Not to be outdone by Crucial, Samsung have today released a firmware update to their 830 series.
Drives shipped with CXM01B1Q. Today CXM02B1Q was released via bootable .ISO.
The firmware wouldn't work though Magician 3.1 and kept saying the drive already had the latest firmware. Oddly they've released an ISO before updating Magician.
I couldn't be bothered to type the release notes so I've linked them below. I have just completed the process using a CD-RW and it worked fine. Took about 10 seconds to actually flash the firmware.
It did not mention anything about powering off between rebooting but as Intel and SF drives requre it, I didn't think it would hurt and powered down for 30 seconds before switching back on.
