What the.... I thought it was delayed cause someone forgot to put CD-keys in the boxes?

I am 'satisfied' about the patch. Seems standard practice now, which is unfortunate, but whatever, it's not like I don't check everytime I install something.

Hmmmm. Review out already at EurogamerA little harsh it seems but I agree with the reviewer if some of these things actually occur *after* the patch. Hope this gets worked out.

I pre-ordered mine from gogamer.com. They show the ship date as Sept. 15.. Maybe it got pushed back for NA only. Suck.

UK/European version was not delayed only US far as I know, since I live in the UK I can live with that :).

Btw expect another patch at some point,US owners may get the next patch by the time it goes retail over there.

Are you in North America? Did you buy it off steam and get to play right away?

Never mind. Found my answer in on steams web page. It's due to unlock 9/6/2008, but people from the forum are skeptical that will happen.

Thank god. I already made the mistake of ordering Stalker on Steam (which completely blew if you wanted to use any mods) and if they released Clear Sky on Steam 10 days early, I know I would have ended up buying from Steam as well.

Now I'll just wait for a retail copy or preorder from GoGamer.

Installed patch and started playing the game,I had two sound issues where the sound would have a slight crackle and also stop working occasionally, checking sound settings in Clear Sky it was set to generic sound so I changed it to Audigy 4(since I was using an Audigy 4 sound card) and that fixed that problem so far.No graphical glitches so far in the game.

I played a few missions etc and so far its not crashed at all so stability is excellent with my 4870 card and Vista x64 combo,I would recommend you turn shadow settings right down since this does kill the frame rate regardless of what video card you are using, anyway plenty of options in video advance settings to tweak the game.

I'm playing at 1680x1050 res will high detail etc...game runs fine and gameplay wise its like the original Stalker game ,same controls etc.. so old Stalker fans will have no problems getting right into the game.

Personally the game seems smoother then the first Stalker game. You have the usual weight limit of 50KG like the first game and loot so far seems the same,F5 for quicksave etc..

Initial impressions are good,I'm obviously still early in the game but I'm enjoying it so far.
I was going to post the readme file but you not allowed if you read the small print.

Does Steam really screw with the modding?

I look forward to the mods coming for this game, and don't want to limit the options.

It can cause wonky problems. It's not as bad as other DD services (at least for the original Stalker) but if you're going to be running mods, get a physical copy.
