i'm skipping clear sky, and i think most people would/have done the same.

Clear Sky is underrated IMO. I'm 7 hours in to COP and I love both previous installments. But this one is a bit lackluster. Nothing anymore special than Clear Sky really. Maybe I need to get to Pripyat.

I'd say you have to play Clear Sky if you are at least somewhat interested in the plot. It transpires in CoP that many of the characters from that game played a much more imporant role than previously assumed. Honestly it wasn't that bad once you patched it a bit.
