Germany says bye to the debt brake. Clears way for far greater infrastructure and defense spending.

https://www.cnbc.com/2025/03/18/ger...ackage-that-could-bring-historic-reforms.html

Under the proposed new laws, defense and certain security expenditures above a certain threshold would no longer be subject to the debt brake, which limits how much debt the government can take on and dictates the size of the federal government’s structural budget deficit.

Loans taken on as part of the infrastructure fund would also be exempt from the debt brake, while Germany’s states would also have greater flexibility around debt.

Trump is still trying to sell the narrative there is a surrounded element of AFU that needs to be saved. Dementia Don chasing that hero clout. Wants people to think AFU and orc casualties are about the same too, he's dismissing their yuuuge losses like he dismisses their crimes against humanity and an ongoing campaign of warcrimes.

Someone needs to ask him why two brigades of AFU are storming in Belgorod instead of rescuing these mystery troops in Kursk. Abandoning your comrades on the battlefield? That's what Russians do. The alt reality shit works at home, why not in Europe I guess? It's like he thinks only he and Putin can see what is happening in the war, that up front European and Ukrainian observations just don't happen.

That's great news about Italy at least. They've been workin out. Would be nice to see NATO eventually replaced by something with the same role and level of deterrence, just in the place of Hungary it's Ukraine.

We will see if this is worth the paper it is printed on. Russia will pause attacks on Ukrainian energy infrastructure for 30-days if Ukraine does the same thing. Ukraine must have really had a impact with those drone strikes on Russian refineries.

Putin Agrees to Pause Attacks on Ukraine Energy Infrastructure in Call With Trump

A White House statement said more negotiations in the Middle East are planned to broaden the deal. “The leaders agreed that the movement to peace will begin with an energy and infrastructure cease-fire, as well as technical negotiations on implementation of a maritime cease-fire in the Black Sea, full cease-fire and permanent peace,” the statement said. “These negotiations will begin immediately in the Middle East.”

The U.S. and Russia agreed that there would be a temporary cease-fire against energy and infrastructure, short of the permanent end to the fighting Trump hoped to broker. Technical discussions about reaching that point will begin immediately in the Middle East, according to the White House.

Yeah how about a big no to Russia, they have shown that they cannot be trusted.

'To achieve a broader cease-fire deal, Russia stressed the need to force additional concessions from Ukraine, including a halt to the rearming of the Ukrainian military and forced mobilization, the Kremlin said in its statement.

Now Zelenskyy can say 'Rearmament and mobilization bans are non starters, but I'll agree to no infrastructure attacks providing Putin extends this protection to Ukrainian civilians and POWs (something already covered in the Geneva Conventions that I shouldn't have to ask for).'

Stay in the "discussion." And go right back to gutting the Russian oil industry and turning orcs into fertilizer. Let Putin's gas station eat Peklo and Long Neptune every night.

I wonder what will happen if Russia sign some kind of deal with no NATO troops or membership to Ukraine, and NATO is disassembled and "EUTO" troops/membership is granted to Ukraine instead :p

The order of priorities reveals that the Ukrainian drone programs, both in the air and at sea, are wildly effective as far as the Kremlin is concerned.

Looks like Russia still wants things to go all their way, or at the least in their favor. Russia agreeing to this ceasefire over energy infrastructure is Russia acknowledging the fact that targeting each other's energy infrastructure is hurting them a whole lot more than it's hurting Ukraine.

Russia is losing that fight.
Now Trump will force Ukraine to stop striking back at Russia.
He wants Russia to win and this would help them immensely.

Asymmetrical warfare is necessary against a larger opponent.
Which is exactly why Trump will go after Ukraine for it.

Spoiler: it will fail.
Trump is shown that will help the dictators and even if Ukraine stops, won't stop the rest to react.

USA wants to fully ally with Russia, but that means become the enemy of most of the world and Russia becomes enemies with China (which USA wants)

Anders Puck gives insight into Ukraine leaving Kursk.

Surprisingly towards the end he offers an explanation as to why Trump keeps parroting Russian disinfo and he references a guy names Vlad Vexler if you want an explanation on that.. So that video is here..

God damn. A pretty good take on why Trump keep sucking Putin off.

Well Ukrainians just blew up an oil pumping station with drones after Russia blacked out half a city and blew up a hospital.

The “ceasefire” seems to be somewhat less than so far.

Sadly Russia will complain that Ukraine violated the ceasefire to Trump who will sadly respond with full believe that Russia was following the casefire when Ukraine violated it... and .... sigh.

Something I really don't understand is (well there are lots), that Trump and his cronies hasn't thought about how much their actions are going to hurt and cost American defense industry. I get their lack of moral, but their lack of economic cohesive thinking is mind blowing, but I guess with the tariffs too I shouldn't really be surprised.

The Canadian's starts their non-American military tech purchases... with an Australian one... yay :D

Officially the system allows the Australian Defence Force to observe air and sea activity north of Australia to distances up to 4,000 kilometres (2,500 mi).[29] This encompasses all of Java, New Guinea and the Solomon Islands, and may include Singapore.[30] However, in 1997, the prototype was able to detect missile launches by China[31] over 5,500 kilometres (3,400 mi) away.

JORN is so sensitive it is able to track planes as small as a Cessna 172 taking off and landing in East Timor 2,600 kilometres (1,600 mi) away.[citation needed] Current research is anticipated to increase its sensitivity by a factor of ten beyond this level.[citation needed]

It is also reportedly able to detect stealth aircraft, as typically these are designed only to avoid detection by microwave radar.

It's funny how many billionaires and industries shot themselves in the foot for a looong period of time by betting on the orange card. Especially the military complex can kiss buh bye to the European market and a lot of other allies that now see that buying American is not safe. If the German colossus does wakes up and becomes again a military superpower, Europe has a chance at becoming a military force to be recond with. For now it's too segregated and not unified.

I don't think they really care. I mean look they are gutting intelligence agencies; cdc, fbi, .... why should military be any different.
