I've only fought Angelo once, and that was as a 12/12 K/R with a priest healing and a mage for DPS (easy fight). I wish I had realized the 2nd starting area exists earlier. It's nice to have someplace to level your secondary class.

I knew about it in theory, but forgot about it when starting my Mage. I levelled my secondary class (Rogue) purely on daily quests. Want to try and get to lvl 35 with him soon now (at 32 now), so I can have a look at the next set of elite skills.

Just got Cruelty yesterday evening btw, and as with all the other Vahtos' set items I got screwed over on durability again. I think the highest dura on any of those items I have is 83 or so :/

The new Ravenfell area is nice with lots of quests, new mobs and elites, its 45+ area.

Only negative thing I can say is the main town (abandon fortress) has to be the laggest place in game.

I've moved into DDC and am soloing windmill on the side... Scout is supposedly super-UP right now, but I think I'm doing ok.

I don't play my scout as a main, but man do vampire arrows kick ass at low levels. I don't even need my fighter skills, things just die.

Vamp arrows is a nice skill, but after they buffed it, they nerfed it a bit again. It's still better than before, though, so I'm not complaining.

So you're a w/s?

W/S is working well but I'm only at 14/11. I got quite pissed yesterday. My "main" is a 20/19 P/R with 21 in herbalism, 20 in mining, 17 in alchemy and damn did that take a long time to level those skills. So on this toon I figured that it would be really nice to not have to gather at all. At around 10/1 I realized that I would have to do some minimal gathering if I wanted elite skills. Then I decided to check out the Reifort area. I've done a lot of quests, but it really pisses me off that one of them requires willow wood in order to complete. I think it's a level 7 quest too (takes lvl 8 woodcutting to chop willow wood). I don't know why but I can't make myself forget about that quest so I leveled woodcutting to level 6 last night and turned the game off to watch dollhouse.

You have other options ie gather the stuff on your alt then mail it to your W/S or get a guildie to get you the resources ,final option is look on AH if you can afford the cost.

My main char is a 40/34 M/R, but on the side I have two other newbie chars. One is the char I started with, a 14/11 W/K. When I started that it did not have much damage (before the Slash changes), so it was pretty hard to solo even at low levels. That's why I decided to try mage, as I wanted to start off with an easy char once the release came, and then get equipment for other chars later.

The third char I started (at the end of the beta) was just at level 5, and I filed a bugreport about it since its name was Frogster :D
Since they would look into it back then but didn't let me know about whether I was allowed to use it or not after that I asked it again, and unfortunately was told I could not use it :(

So now I have a new Priest, which is at level 7. And has 434 Health, and 569 Mana. Don't you love a higher level char with too much cash who can get some nice newbie equipment? ;) The free weapon 'quest' in Logar gives a wand, so I gave it an off-hand Talisman with 18 Stamina, 23 Wisdom and 20 Intelligence, (it had 2 rune slots, so I made Guts 1 and another one like that ;)), and a belt with several Yellow stats. That's even Tier 3! (Gotto try and make both +1!)

I tried MA yesterday with my main char btw, and noticed that, while my lvl 50 guildmembers were mostly ignored (due to being higher level), I was not. The places they could sneak by undetected I would get totally slaughtered, or at least be the reason the whole party had to stop to fight again.

Well, a quick update: solo'd Mystic Altar with my buddy except for Dorlos (got him to 13%). Basically my buddy (Mage/Priest) needs to get more HP (he has 3.2K) in order to survive the AOE bursts in the final phase so I have a healer. Otherwise we roll through it with no problems, probably b/c I have 12K defense and 9.5K HP as a tank. Necropolis of Mirrors was actually tougher, that shadow boss had us reeling until I figured out you can kite him, and the melee trash (knights) were hitting me for around 800 a pop in weakened state which was surprising.

Well I started teaching myself lua yesterday so I can write AddOns. Having written Scheme, Lua turns out to be no problem, but understanding the XML and the existing frames is non-trivial. I'm writing messages to the screen on various events... whoo-hoo =)

The first task I have set myself is to write an addon that sorts, the players bank by first merging all similar items then ordering them Weapons > armor > Mats > pot > etc. (or something similar). Second, I will write one to merge across the backpack & bank. If anyone knows of a good tutorial on the xml, please let me know. The best thing I've found is to inspect existing add-ons and use theromwiki for a list of objects.

Blue's update: As a lvl 46 scout, I've moved into Ravenfell. The game balance is definitely tilting against me now. With a good weave of skills I can kill an enemy just after it gets to me.

Finally completed NoM with a level 40 party and am considering doing mystic altar soon.

I ran Malatina's for the second time yesterday with my P/R and while the main enemies are easy the one elite I dug up just hammered me. I had no chance at all.

Who else is on Artemis?

As far as I understand there is an easy way to take him down. Run through the teleporters, and hit him while he turns around to get to you. If that doesn't work play around with all your stun skills :)

Of course this is purely based on what I read, since I won't bother trying it until I get a new PC, and that is waiting for the 955 release on the 20th. At the moment I am using exactly the bottom specs (2.4GHz, 512MB RDRAM, 9700 Pro), which means that if I enter an instance any aggressive monster will have 30+ seconds to kill me before I can move. Same if I get a disconnect in an area with aggressive monsters. Which happens a lot because it if is too busy loading a new area and a lot of players are around it cannot keep track of it and that causes DCs. Harf sucks for me because of that too. A round of killing ferrets can finish in 2 minutes or so, getting to town, switching class, completing and re-getting the quest, switching back, and going to the Sea of Snow again can take over 10 minutes when there are too many people there.

Hmm no stun skills but I've never tried the teleporters, that's a great idea. I can keep my DoTs up and it's much easier (and more effective) than strafing.

I suggest you try Malatina's. It teleports you inside, but there's a NPC waiting there that you have to talk to before the door opens and the timer begins. Thus you're 30 seconds of lag aren't a problem and since the instance is limited to just you, you shouldn't have disconnects.

Well, lately I even get disconnects in my house :p

During the Beta I hardly ever had problems, only in the busiest of places. The more players the worse it gets :(

Edit: Oh btw, lvl 40 is too low level for the Cyclops Lair. They resist just about all my attacks there :/

Its all Elites 50+ plus there(and 5 bosses) so really its for groups made of 50 level players.

2 of my lvl 50 guildmembers asked me along because I tend to be a good player, and was levelling fast up to now. But I want the MA title, so I stopped levelling for a few days now :p

Few more levels and I should be ok.

Have to see how it goes this weekend, but yesterday the lag was significantly lower (except for Harf and Silverfall) than before! And I love the way necro (and I assume FA) are now, they really made them more suitable for the levels for which they are supposed to be. As level 40 Mage I can kill those elites 1 on one, and with a lvl 50 Mage guildmember I yesterday did the 2 end bosses of necro just for the heck of it. He was able to tank them, while I would clean up scorpions when they appeared, and distract the critters long enough for him to heal when needed.

Tried tanking one myself too, but unfortunately they hit me a bit harder still :p

(No insta kill, but still enough damage to make it hard to survive without running away)

Just check this topic to see if people mention the server they play on. Or go to the US RoM forums to see what people say about the different servers. I cannot give you any information since I play on the European servers :)

I'm on Artemis which I've had very few lag problems with (just in the cities occasionally).
