Im still getting way to much lag. Takes a second or two to loot. Takes a second or two to attack. Get lag warping all the time. Sticks me back 100 in game yards. It's frustrating.

Sometimes I running from mobs and will be turning a corner and then lag warp WAY back. I get all turned around not knowing where I am.

Can't tell you how many times I've died from lag.

I like the game though. But this lag needs to be fixed fast. It wasn't like that before. I guess just to many people playing now.

I noticed that closing the game and restarting it just before playing helps. I used to leave my PC on all the time because I was using an encyclopedia (finished it yesterday, so now I can turn off my PC again), and lag was pretty bad after leaving it on for so long. But closing and restarting it would make it more bearable.

Speaking of technical issues, I have a problem with my graphics. About once a day while in town the graphics just go kaput. Colors get reversed, you can see some of the polygons, etc. I tried older drivers to correct it, but it just got worse, so back to the latest and greatest.

I switched my alt to a S/W and man does scout suck (I don't have any of the sets that my warrior has so hes slightly gimped armor-wise). Either I have to run backwards for 20 seconds or I take a pounding every time an enemy hits me (and have low hp). VA + skullsmasher (the 15/15 elite) makes for a great secondary skills but I don't care for scout primary at all.

I hit 20/20 this morning so it's time to mine mats so I can get my second set of elite skills.

I also ran windmilll for the first time ever yesterday. Wow, not only was the instance great fun (20/16 W/S is the right power for it) the crafting recipes rock. Too bad that it appears you have to run it 5-8 times just to make something from them.

Nicely done. Is that 50/50 or 50/x? How long did that take, and did you craft along the way?

50/32... A couple months of casual playing. I didn't craft so much, all my professions are around lvl 10.

Decided to stop trying to get the MA title with my mage, and will go for the Contender of Malatina's Game title instead (also since that gives stats), and will try to get several titles on my newbie Priest/Knight instead (yeah, I know, but I want a possible tank, so Priest/Scout wasn't much of an option).

Already soloed the Logar Bear King at 11 after still needing help with it to get the level 10 title, killed Angelo (so not Anglie, who is a pushover, but his big brother) at lvl 12 (a lvl 12 priest tagged along, but he didnt need to heal me and didnt do much damage compared to me ;) ), tanked Bernok in a party at level 16, soloed the Kobold leader and Amias at level 17. Going to try get the FA title before level 20, and by playing actively rather than leeching in there.

The trick on doing critters like that solo: Have a higher level char to pimp your newbie eq with ;)
Few low level items with +Stamina and +Wisdom boost your survivability nicely.

Btw, Malatina's Game is pretty hard with a priest. Just clearing out the room takes so much time that you can only open 2 rows before running out of time :(
Does anyone know whether the stronger critter in there has a different name than the weaker ones? I did notice one critter doing about 200 damage per hit, and being level 15 (my priest is level 16), the others hit less hard. But I had expected it to have a different name than the others, if this was indeed the strongest monster I will encounter in there. Drops are very nice though, and since low levels don't have that much cash yet a lot of people buy good low level eq with diamonds instead. Which means that I can do it a few times, get some tokens back from the game, and get enough diamonds to buy a daily reset ticket once every few days too. Or just buy Transmutator charges instead, that's what I usually use the tokens for anyway.

Well the wife and I gave this a shot this weekend and I have to say we had a good time with it. Amazingly well done for a "free" game - plenty of content, stable, etc. A few annoying things exist of course but nothing is perfect :) We played until we both had our dual-classed characters to lvl 12 and then had to put it away and get some sleep. Not sure if the wife will keep playing since she has Guild commitments in Vanguard but I'll definitely keep going.

Well I manage to retain a short term attachment to my characters as evidenced by my new character yesterday. I too am playing a cookie-cutter M/P now. let me just state that at early levels a maxed flame is massively overpowered. I 1 shot enemies below my level and Flame + fireball takes care of most everyone else.

One more comment which AoE spells are worth leveling?

The problem is that both Lightning Storm as well as Purgatory are extremely nice, so you'd need lots of TP just for those (and for the Wind/Fire Mastery thingies).

Lightning Storm does very nice damage, and the longer it takes them to leave it, the more damage they take. Not to mention it has a slow effect. And you can cast it at range 150, but due to the area in effect you can hit monsters at range 200 or even more.

Purgatory is an Instant, which means you can spam it for fast and massive damage on anything near you. But it has to be within range 50 for you to hit it.

So now the disadvantages:

Range 50 for Purgatory means they hit you by the time you use it. It rocks for quickly cleaning up relatively weak critters, but lots of strong ones will still be a problem.

Lightning Storm requires you to stand still casting it, meaning you can't do anything else and can get interrupted or stunned while doing so.

Oh, and both require lots of mana.

What I do a lot is use LS to aggro several groups of monsters (make sure your shield is up!), and spam Purgatory when they get close.

TP wise you can still level your skills even at 50,it'll take awhile but technically no reason why you can't max all your skills to 50 level.

Don't forget the discharge once mobs get in range of purgatory... Mages are pretty squishy.

Well I've got my character up to a 17 Rogue/15 Scout and still enjoying things so far. They do make it AWFULLY tempting to spend money tho - getting around without your own horse is a real PITA

The new event has a perm mount as price, although it was bugged yesterday. Just keep an eye on the forum and try to get that quest reward.

Now and then but population is not like the old days,a lot of players have left.

I think when the new classes arrive in September there will be a new influx of players.

I'm trying 12SKY2 at the moment MMORPG wise.
