Great. My kids go "ching chong ching chong". Do I have to put them down now?

Just suffered through the 5 minute Drinking Devito Bashes Bush clip. What's the big deal.

I think that people should be allowed to say exactly what they feel, that way we know exectly who they are. (I vote with my eyes and my pocketbook. I no longer watch Mel Gibson movies (I am Jewish), and he has done some of my favorite movies.)

Another Jewish guy crying about Mel Gibson. Yawn.

How is voting with my eyes and my pocketbook "crying"?

MotionMan

If non-Jews voted with their pocketbook to put a Jewish star out of work, the Jewish community would be up in arms about it and crying about ant0i-semitism. From what I hear, he's blacklisted.

I'm just sick of special interest goups always whining about things.

If the Jew was racist like Gibson is anti-semitic, I would be right there with the boycott.

Besides, I am not whining about anything, nor have I organized some sort of Mel Gibson boycott. I have just made a personal decision that if he feels that way about me, I am not going to give him my business.

I don't think you should make it out to be more than what it is.

Fair enough.

if you're kids are saying that, maybe you should tell them to learn how to respect a different language. even if it isn't racist in an of itself, it's still highly disrespectful.

no wonder kids these days are brats...

Yeah, "kids these days" made that up all on their own.

I blame the public schools where they pick everything up. I don't think the kids are trying to be disrespectful, "ching chong ching chong? is just what Chinese sounds like to 5, 7 or 10 year old little white boys...

? and lesbians in their 40s.

But would the average reasonable asian be offended, given the context?

There is a story where the assistant gave her a bottle of water. She looked at him funny b/c it the cap wasn't screwed off and place back in. She went off in a tirade. She is a crazy biatch that doesn't belong on tv. Seriously, she is a fat, homo slob. Why does she need to be on tv?

Wait I also just realized what you asked, and I know you don't mean anything by it - but how is my girlfriend not an average Asian? lol

It is (or at least, use to be) a legal standard. Would the speach offend the average reasonable class member.

The fact that one member of the class was offended is not (or, at least should not be) enough.

It will be funny when someone stuffs an oversized eggroll down her pie hole. She will probably eat it though and the person who threw it!!

Having been to China I would say this would offend a lot of people. It wasn't just 'using an accent' as a joke - saying ching chong over and over has more cultural baggage attached to it. She needs to realized she Fed up.

Oh, stop whining like a little sissy. If anyone has baggage, it's you. You must carry around tons of baggage, seeing how you get offended so easily.

My advice to you: deal with it. Stop whining like an 11 year old girl.

You sir, are a buffoon. I will now take the advice an internet neffer gives me - thanks for the life lessons.

This is something that offends me - it's nice if you are in a position where you don't have to worry about stuff like this - but whatever.

Enjoy your Friday night, friend.

I'm not a buffoon, I'm just not a delicate flower like you're pretending to be.

You need to grow a thicker skin. There's a whole world out there which contains things which might offend you. Don't take everything to heart, let it slide. There's no advantage to being delicate, it will only hurt you.

If she had said "even in France on the news they are saying la mond touche fois gras Danny DeVito ooh la croix mer drunk the View say pouce..." would anyone say that she was making anti-French remarks? Would anyone care?

What Rosie was doing is nowhere near what the Chinese language sounds like.

EDIT: Damn, Elisabeth Hasselbeck is HOT!

This is all b/c of white america. Rosie's attitude towards different cultures is reflective of what america thinks. Do u guys realize that the asian and hispanic population is gonna take over? No one will care soon b/c we will take over. We will be mainstream before u know it. America will be speaking spanish and chinese as 2nd languages before they know it. As for rosie, she is ignorant to resort to childish antics.

As for the woman with the kids who resort to this: just do that around any asian and I am sure you will get a beat down.

Why does everyone on this forum hate her so much? Calling her a pig and a cow ecause she's overweight? WTF?

She's unattractive

She's Gay

She's political(left)

You'll find forum members around who hate her almost as much as they hate Hillary Clinton.

She can be as ugly, bitchy, gay and political as she wants...

But when she actively tries to take away my firearms and says I should be in prison merely for owning a firearm, she crosses the line and earns my disgust

"I don't care if you think it's your right. I say: Sorry, it's 1999. We have had enough as a nation. You are not allowed to own a gun, and if you do own a gun I think you should go to prison."

Yep. This is why people hate Rosie. It's got nothing to do with her sexuality. And it didn't help her cause that she made these comments to Tom Selleck after she invited him onto her own talk show. She pretty much nuked her own career right there. Good riddance.
