Why do all RP threads eventually degenerate into this?

Into what? Legendkiller laying the smackdown on the Paulsies? I'm gonna go out on a limb and say because he's a bit more rational than they are.

 I guess that depends on your point of view ;)

Hey, another sideline snipe! Great job! Let me know when you grow a big enough pair to enter the debate.

Been there and done that with you LK. You know it. You always resort to name calling like a child. Thats why engaging in conversations with you are pointless. Besides, you are getting owned pretty well in this thread. I'll visit this thread for future reference for a good laugh. Been pretty entertaining so far

Ohhh, accusing me of calling names and then calling me a name. Nice hypocrisy!!

No, conversations with me is pointless to you because you can't win, that's why you have to stand on the sidelines acting like a thug, cheering on your fellow 5%'er. You're nothing more than one of those kids who'd sit in the middle of a fight yelling somebody on, but realizing they're too weak to actually take part.

Owned? Please, only your fellow 5%'ers think I am getting "owned", everybody else realize that you're all pretty damn loony and are being handled pretty easily by me. Sorry for informing you that you're a 5%'er, perhaps you'll learn next time that conspiracy websites and oddball theories aren't enough to defeat reason, logic, and data.

Well, soon I'm going to get ready to jump into this thread, to be honest. But first, I'll note my positions. I do support Ron Paul, albeit not all of his thoughts. Some of his ideas simply seem unreasonable and impractical to me. What I support about Paul is the fact that he is coming up with solutions, rather than just stating the problems. It seems that everyone else just wants to complain about problems but not come up with tangible plans. While Paul's plans don't necessarily seem like they may work, I truly appreciate the fact that he is formulating them. I think Paul speaks wonderfully to the preservation of civil liberties, which is of the utmost concern for me. Some of the people who follow Paul get too fanatical, but that's just like any candidate. They don't realize that sometimes his ideas are imperfect. I take out of him the fact that he's really trying to do something, rather than just making his lips move (read Obama and McCain, more or less.)

And 95% of the population is having an even greater time watching the thugs cheer on their losing party. It's OK, not everybody can be as knowledgable as 95% of the rest of the world. We all need you guys to maintain some perspective. We still love you.

All the flaming. It's entertaining, but this is how pretty much *all* RP threads go. In the end, it's LK versus a bunch of 'Paulbots'. And while I haven't read much of this thread, the few glimpses I've had show oft-repeated arguments. You got to admire LK for perseverance though.

They are only oft repeated because they are true, are logical, and have backup. Insinuation and poor history, as well as unfounded theory and historical fallacies don't make good arguments.

Gotta admire RPB's perserverance to spread FUD around. Despite the preponderance of evidence that they are wrong, they still piss into the wind.

Well, I must confess that I learned quite a bit from the other threads. I'm a newbie to economics, and not really a RP supporter. I liked that cagematch thread and also that really long one on the gold standard, but it really seems like a sticky would be useful, since many arguments (on both sides) are repeated over and over again.

And all the flaming definitely spices it up. Definitely better than a textbook. :D
