Lol what a thread.
what does the OP hope to get out of this. this is not going toget them brownie points with managment or other people at the company. best situation is to ignore it and continue on.
OP sounds like that guy at work everyone hates cus he sucks up to the boss and tells the boss all the bad stuff everyone is doing.
That's EXACTLY what it sounds like. He's "that guy".
Her job hunting at work and possibly leaving without giving notice does, however, affect me because I have to deal with the mess.
No, you are MORE likely to be affected by this if you get involved.
A. She's leaving and you tell on her. She's pissed, she tells other people and they get pissed, you get shunned and your job is forever more difficult to do.
B. She's not leaving and you tell on her. She gets in trouble, explains, and then you get in trouble.
C. She's not leaving for months and you tell on her. She's now leaving sooner and you have more hassle immediately.
D. Regardless of what she's doing you tell on her and your bosses get pissed at you for stirring the pot and causing them extra hassle.
Where in this is a win win situation for you?
