I am beyond excited for this. I do have a question.

The Rogue One trailer clearly shows the Death Star blowing up a planet.

In ANH, Alderaan is the first target the Empire tests the Death Star on.

Are Jyn and company on Alderaan when it gets wiped out?

Not sure that it's Alderaan, since that occurred during ANH and I'm pretty sure this movie's timeline ends cleanly before ANH picks up. My guess is it's Jedah, since we never hear about it afterwards and wiping out the Jedi origin world is a surefire way for everyone to forget all about the Jedi (and also prevent the Rebellion from getting enough crystals to make their own weapon.)

I'm just not feeling hyped for this movie at all. The first trailer sucked, they had reshoots which is never a good sign, that with the fact that we are getting a new Star Wars movie every year now, it just makes Star Wars feel less special. Force Awakens was special because it was the first new Star Wars movie in a long time. If they had just released a new trilogy I would be all for it, but to have prequels, side stories, character origin stories, etc, it's just too much Star Wars. It dilutes the product.

I don't think the StarWars universe will be diluted if the movie is good. I'm almost more excited for this than TFA, which as a huge StarWars fan I was severely disappointed with.

The one I have real reservations about is the Han Solo origin story. I just can't wrap my head around how that will be ok.

Love the latest 'last' trailer! I really don't think Star Wars will be diluted, there is way too much material and potential for new sagas that I'm looking forward to what they can do. I hope Kathleen Kennedy (runs LucasFilm) has the foresight to give what many fans want, a new saga based on the Old Republic.
I am really looking forward to this film!

Tickets at my fave theater go on sale early monday morning. I wanna see the thursday night sneak preview. But is that when all the best geeks will be attending? Or should I wait for friday night?

The hardcore best geeks will go Thursday night. But Friday night will be full of us geeks too. Tickets go on sale at 12AM EST/ 9PM PST, the night shows will definitely sell out.

Again ... in case you missed it the first time.

Eh, those reshoots apparently weren't the doom and gloom everyone assumed they were.

No, I read it the first time, and I'll say it again, watch the very first trailer they released and the newer ones, totally different feel and tone. Hence why they did reshoots.

Of course no one is going to say that they are doing reshoots of a movie for any negative reasons.

Re-shoots happen ALL THE TIME. These were even scheduled to happen as part of the entire production cycle. The tone of the trailers might have more to do with what they want you to see and what was completed (effects wise) at the time of release.

But, you're right. It'll be a disaster.

OK, at 12:17 I finally got thru.

And when I did, ALL the center line seats had been bought out. Can only assume some asshole used a script to occupy the website then swallowed the prime tickets. Fucker.

Sister-in-law's BF's family apparently rents out a theater showing to see big movies like this so I'll be seeing it on the 17th. The downside is that the showing is at 6am.

Got an email from regal, they're selling a special ticket for $100 you can go to as many showings as you want. assume there is some type of identification required so you can't just keep passing it around.

Got my tickets last night -- UltraScreen VIP seats 10:15 showing. Sadly the 7pm (first showing) was 3D and screw that -- they REALLY need to give up on pushing 3D on people.
My family also rented out the "bistro" theater (where you can order food and sit at tables) for the 17th like we did for TFA. It's going to be good!

Initial reports based on pre-sale levels has RO projected as 2nd highest December opening of all time, behind only SW:7.

I would love that. If I ever finally move out of this dreadful city someday I hope to one day enjoy laser 3D/cushy seats/beer etc during the movie experience.
