3. If you watch the behind the scenes footage, the sets are very intricate. Rebuilding/setting them up again took a lot longer than your average green screen movie.

Reading YouTube comments, someone mentioned that they used a real subway/train station for one of the Rogue One sets. And it wasn't some abandoned factory. That's gotta be new?

God so much this. Just a perfect post.

I've said it a dozen times in this thread and a million times in real life conversations -- the Fett movie(s) and/or Solo movie(s) are unwanted, unwarranted and will simply NEVER live up to any expectations and will simply diminish the mystique and love of these characters going forward. Lucas already ruined Fett with the stupid prequel storyline (though, I just completely ignore the prequels like they never happened so Fett is still OK in my book).

I LOVE Star Wars. And I mean LOVE it -- it was pretty much my entire childhood in the 70s and 80s But I never was one to get into all the EU and "borderline canon" crap.

I dunno, I would have rather had a movies about Solo and Fett in the prime than The Force Awakens. If they cant tell a good Solo or Fett movie, they probably cant do a good true sequel or new story well either. And really, prequels revolving around Anakin and Obi-wan should have been awesome. They're entertaining in Star Wars Clone Wars, but Lucas really dropped the ball. That doesnt mean I wouldnt want someone else do take a shot at it. If its not good then its not good, but I'd rather have the to option watch it and crap on it than not have it at all. 😛

If these guys have their way, we'll soon have a complete story of the evolution of the Ewoks and how Wickett came to possess that hat he wore in Return of the Jedi. I can almost hear certain nerds squealing in delight as they learn the answer of the age-old question: HOW DID WICKETT THE EWOK GET HIS HAT?!?!?!?!

I went from laughing to sighing in despair as I suddenly realized someone will probably put it in one of these movies. It'll be part of Han's story, he'll somehow have given Wickett the hat. That's why he liked Leia, he smelled Han's scent on her.

Didn't wow me like the Episode 7 one did.

Going to see it release day regardless. 🙁 Hate myself...

I'm glad I'm not the only one. It's not the worst thing I've seen, but it kinda looks like generic sci fi action movie.

I want to see one along the lines of a Mel Brookes show like in Blazing Saddles when the actors on the western set crashed the gay dance party stage. If our elderly star wars cast were to accidentally crash the star trek set we could have a new scifi comedy move. Really though I hope that they do something more futuristic with a healthier rebel alliance instead of the scene this last movie set with them living in squalor chasing down their used up jedi.

Same thing like I said when the first trailer was released, this doesn't look good at all. From the trailer it looks like a fan made movie. I wasn't a huge fan of The Force Awakens but at least it looked freaking awesome from the trailers. This has none of that. Not to mention the reshoots they had to do for this movie.

"I fear nothing, all is as the Force wills it." I am very intrigued by Donnie Yen's character. I've always thought they should explore other orders of Force users beyond the Jedi and Sith. It appears this character might be somewhere along those lines.

This looks amazing. The prequels almost killed Star Wars for me. It was too aesthetically distant from the feel of the OT. TFA hit all of the right beats, but still had a few glaring plot problems. Rogue One seems to capture the same intensity of the Battle of Hoth, with a very similar feel.

This. It also scares me since I don't believe that the movie will live up to what we are expecting.

Before DS 1 blew up at Yavin the rebellion was very much a tattered insignificant force. It was only after Yavin that the rebellion was taken seriously and real resources started pouring in. In this movie the rebellion should have about the same capacity as the resistance in TFA.

Interesting trailer, looks to give more glimpses of the story behind the lead. Lot more plot and less action in this version.

I missed where you saw "less action"?
Has a totally different feel than the first trailer. Doesn't even feel like the same movie from the very first trailer we got. Probably why they did reshoots after the first trailer. Still doesn't look amazing with me. I hate prequels of great movies. Just kills a lot of the mystery we had.

New TV spot released, seems to be almost entirely previously seen shots.

Any word on ticket pre-sales? 11/7 was a rumoured date but nothing. Haven't heard anything else. Movie's a month away. I seem to remember getting tickets for Force Awakens 2 months in advance.

I am beyond excited for this. I do have a question.

The Rogue One trailer clearly shows the Death Star blowing up a planet.

In ANH, Alderaan is the first target the Empire tests the Death Star on.

Are Jyn and company on Alderaan when it gets wiped out?
