I don't necessarily think both sides are bad, rather I see pros and cons in different areas. And I do not think you should be calling ideas that you disagree with lazy, but whatever, as long as you can be somewhat respectful.

No matter what your policy opinions are, if you value democracy, there is only one party that is actively undermining it. If you think that’s a pro/con and not a direct threat to our democracy then not only are you being intellectually lazy but you yourself are an accomplice to our democracy’s demise.

But F the party as well who couldn't put up anyone else in the primary and lost it all.

Ultimately that defines Ds, no culture of winning. Get the most votes, still hold no power, but just look sad in response.
How about we put the blame where it really belongs. On the voters.. not the party.

I am hoping we will have better candidates in the coming elections for the two major "parties"...

For the last two elections you guys have had the choice of a moral cesspool and a not particularly adventurous politician and somehow you came out in droves for the moral cesspool on both occasions. The quality of the candidates is not the problem. If Jesus Christ was the better candidate in the next election he'd be savaged as a hardcore commie lefty.

Nope, the US (like the UK, our conservatives like to follow yours) has a people problem, and for that there's no quick solution.

Ok fuck off then, I guess I am done here 😛 You look like a good candidate for the ignore list.

Not sure the US has ever actually been a democracy. It was designed from the get-go as a race and class based oligarchy. You need to blame those "founders" of yours.

I'm puzzled by your reaction. What's your reason for it, some kind of "fuck you, I won't do what you tell me" thing or do you actually question that the GOP is trying to undermine democracy in the US?

Overall I'm puzzled by your political stance. From what you've said in this thread it seems to me that overall you voting Dem would be a no-brainer, but you also like to spout this "you want to silence people who disagree with you" straw man vibe for no apparent reason.

The blue ones.
Actually several blue states have a Republican legislature locked in via gerrymandering. Therefore if they never removed their anti-abortion laws or if they ever have a Republican governor, abortion rights will be dead forever in that state.

Further, do we really believe Fundies well be happy with "states rights?" They'll be going for a national ban before the ink dries on this order.

If it's an Alito opinion and it's not a Minority one you know it's going to shit. An ultra-conservative, Christian-fundy, conspiracy laden, piece of shit.

Also seeing a lot of "well Alito said he'd leave Griswold and Obergefell and Lawrence alone in the opinion" while the same opinion is chocked full of crazy like abortion is a eugenics program against black people. Don't trust untrustworthy people or let them invoke the majesty of the court which is making unhinged and wildly inconsistent opinions to justify nakedly partisan actions.

The Democrats need to do something, anything. Starting to feel about the Republicans the way I felt about the Taliban taking over Afghanistan, at least they seem capable of holding Power.

Republicans embrace their Base, Democrats try to silence theirs. This is not going to end well if it continues. They already call you Commies, stop acting like actually doing something will harm you.

Democrats should probably reverse course/policy on guns.
Just come out and say it, forces domestic and abroad is scheming to overturn the democratic institutions, shut down the experiment, and to prepare for a fight.
You know. One-up the GQP rhetoric.
