News Roe v. Wade overturned

No, blame the people , not the candidate. She was way better than Trump in every way, he openly said in debate that if he won, he'd appoint justices to overturn Roe. But they still couldn't be bothered to vote. If Clinton won, Roe would still be law of the land. Culture of winning is having a fight in the primary and then turning out to vote for who is on the ballot for your party in the general. Waiting for the perfect candidate or staying home because of primary butthurt is culture of losing. Losing has consequences.

No, the party only had two real candidates that year, Hillary and Bernie the socialist, and Bernie was never supposed to do as well as he did. He was supposed to be an "also ran" to create contrast for Hillary's moderate views for the GE.

Hillary was a deeply flawed and disliked candidate that was going to be polarizing, and the party cleared the way of any meaningful opposition.

The party gambled on all in on her and lost.

Very few were actually excited for her, but voted least bad option.

Really, the only reason the SC is even 6-3 is bc Trump was historically incompetent, else a more traditional R would have likely won reelection and we'd be looking at a youthful 7-2 court, and possibly Thomas retiring to cement any chance in decades to make changes.

Stop making excuses for a poorly run party that can't deliver even when given the majority vote.

What happens when they don't want darkies eating at the same lunch counter with their lily white asses? What happens when marriage equality is rolled back? No right is safe from these people

It's a coming, all of it.
THIS is what the extremist have been waiting for and praying for, for a long long time.

I do hope that anyone and everyone who supports banning abortion is ready to pony-up the money to assist all of these new mothers. To assist these new "single" mothers. To assist these new underaged mothers. I do hope that these pro-life with no-exception fanatics realize it will cost "them" a lot of $$$$$$$ in supporting all of these new poor impoverished mothers and their impoverished babies with housing and food stamps and healthcare and public assistance. There will be no free lunch for those who impost their morals onto others.

As the babies are born, the republican controlled states will cut the funds. Believe me, this is going to get ugly and ugly really fast. We already know that the religious fanatics would and have never supported public assistance for the needy, especially when that support comes in the form of taxing those same religious fanatics.
Taxes will rise. They have to, or we will see THIS on every street corner.

Hasn't/Isn't one of the states pushing through a "it's illegal to get your abortion done by travelling outside of this state" law though?

Yes, and I'm sure others will as well. So you will ultimately have a patchwork system (hey, at least it's consistent with the rest of healthcare in this country) in which only certain women in certain states will have access to legal abortion. At least while those states have a Dem legislature and/or governor.

But it sounds like a national ban will probably be on the agenda in 2024. In fact I expect the GOP to campaign on it at this point. The only question will be whether they will have a filibuster proof majority by 2024 but they will prob vote to nix it for this issue.

The party didn't clear the way for Hillary. Jesus Christ.

Every Democrat is the "Socialist". The Working Class needs its' Party back.

Bullshit they didn't. The Clintons were the D party. To not understand that is naive.

They got upset by Obama in 2008, and made sure it didn't happen again. They had all the machinery, donors and loyalists behind them.

And left zero evidence other than one dumb shit giving Hillary one debate question unsolicited and one email from a big donor saying (within his rights) that they didn't think Bernie should be allowed to run as a Democrat, which the DNC ignored. That's it. That is everything that was done to "help" Hillary. Meanwhile Bernie's team illegally accessed Hillary's team's data and got nothing but a slap on the wrist.

No, Clinton had just cultivated relationships in the Democratic Party for decades, something Sanders failed to do. Turns out

2016 saw a contested primary and Sanders lost fair and square. He lost again in 2020, fair and square. At least in 2020 he learned his lesson and dropped out after it was clear he couldn't win, unlike in 2016.

I "do not" envision Joe Biden pulling the dems out of this one. But.... I can see Hillary Clinton doing it come 2024. It's worth a shot. 2024 just may be her time. And dems will blame Biden because this happened under Biden. Not that this was Biden's fault, but that's just the way the blame game works.
Hillary in 2024. A woman who believes in Woman's rights.

It doesn't take much effort for some dumb ass politician to propose a bill. There is a lot of dumb bills that never get beyond committee.

It seemed outlandish that it would be ok to put bounties out on people who perform abortions to get around the law but that's something that happened too, which the court has so far said is maybe ok.

All these Republican states that want to ban abortion should be forced to allocate funding to provide greater services to economically disadvantaged mothers who will be forced to carry to term their pregnancies. View attachment 60987

Absolutely no to Hillary.

This the Dems' problem, they need new blood but keep defaulting to the establishment.

No. She's done and over with. If the Dems pull her out of cold storage and try to prop her up, they will lose - badly.

lool no. We need new blood.

Wasn't the concern in Missouri that the bill would criminalize the act of helping someone get a abortion, even if the abortion is performed outside Missouri?

I think the Missouri fuckery is that it's worded that if you're a "resident of Missouri" - technically stopping you from crossing state borders or even international borders to get a procedure.
