Let's just leave the 6'4" tight end completely uncovered.

If only we had a weekly football thread to speak of such things.

Epic bad call and no review, but oh well...

if not for facemask, which it really wasn't, ref could and would have called roughing the passer, which it was.

I also liked the no-call on the play before that, when it looked like PI against detroit. It really wasn't.

So, two proper calls there.

It certainly wasn't any sort of "roughing the passer"...he still had the ball and could be tackled.

lolwut?

i also find it hilarious when people think a game is decided by 1 or 2 calls at the end of hte game were "mised", like the earlier 59 minutes were irrelevant.

Oh yeah, fair point.

OK, how about Unnecessary Roughness? I think it tends to be a judgement call at times, but it could be seen at the moment that he was grabbed around the collar and while he wasn't pulled down from the back, he was slung to the ground rather roughly.

Either way, his head was jerked back quickly which is usually how those calls are made on the field.

I didn't see the end of the game, but I'm going to just throw this out there:

The Packers potentially missing the playoffs is bad for business. :whiste:

Full disclosure: I'm a Vikings guy, so ... obviously I want the Packers to lose forever and for always. BUT, I do think there's something to the whole special treatment thing. I will say I certainly appreciate Rodgers not begging for flags every time he throws an incomplete pass like some other NFCN QB's (Stafford anyone?).

yeah, blame the nfl for the sack/fumble/td against stafford, and blame the nfl for the sack/strip/fumble on the very next drive that led to a quick td. blame the nfl on rogers running in for 20yd td scramble on 3rd down.

and of course. blame the nfl for the lions giving rogers enough time to have his men run 65 yards into the endzone and rogers having enough time to run around while they did so then heave the ball, and finally, blame the nfl for not covering rodgers in the endzone for the jump ball.

On a play that shouldn't have happened.

oh yeah, sorry.

also blame the nfl for the lions guy grabbing rogers facemask too. forgot about that one, my bad.

EDIT:

and i know it wasn't a 15 yarder facemask yank, but he clearly brushed it, and anyone who says they knew that wasn't a "real" facemask until the zoomed in slow motion replay is a fucking liar. the penalty is not reviewable and it clearly looked like a facemask in real time.
