What are things that drivers do that piss you off?

Here are some of mine:

One asshole decides to hold the entire fast lane back. Forces everyone in the back to be impatient and make dangerous cuts to get ahead.

Asshole honks at you for not making a red light right turn despite traffic.

Asshole who makes a red light right turn onto your lane and you are forced to brake because the asshole isn't patient.

You're going as fast as everyone else and one asshole decides to tailgate you. You can't go any faster because the cars in front of you and beside you are going the same speed. (I drive a manual, I sometimes lower my gear from cruising to 3rd to drop off speed without my brake lights coming on. They get the point after.)

Asshole double parks at the entrance of a street. So if you are trying to pass the car, you have to pray that no car is trying to make a right turn onto your street and cause a head on collision.

Assholes that have ultra bright headlights.

Assholes that disobey the carpool lane rule.

Assholes that break for no reason on the freeway. Just take your damn foot off the gas.

Assholes that cut way too much while in slow traffic. Don't they know that the more they cut, the slower traffic gets?

1. people with xenon bulbs swapped into their non projector halogen housings.

2. almost everyone that drives a toyota hybrid becuase they are almost 99% likely to be people who barely know how to drive. seems people who drive other hybrids are at least more sensible. like if i saw a person in a fusion hybrid or a bmw one i don't immediately assume they are terrible at using a car.

3. people who drive giant SUVs for no reason like my idiot cousin (i love him but really he makes some dumb moves), new owner of a QX56 that blocks all sight

4. people who are "nice" and thus have no idea how to merge onto a freeway

For me it's people that get in the no left turn lane and then make a left, blocking the traffic for 8-9 cars because they can't follow simple directions. Also the drivers that like to just cruise past the school bus when they have the red blinkers on. I see this almost every morning on the way to work.

Even while riding a bike, this is one of my pet peeves as well. Drivers will stop when they have the right of way (they were at the stop sign first or have no stop sign) and not go, waiting on me to go. I am a driver too and I know the rules of the road. I'd rather you just treat me like another vehicle on the road.

Admittedly, I know there are those who will blow through a stop sign, and not give it a second thought.

1) When there are no cars except myself approaching, and someone pulls out in front of me, then proceeds to drive under the speed limit.

2) When people try to merge onto a 65mph highway going 50mph, causing the cars behind them to slow down and merge slowly.

Put in for one of the people that hate drivers who have no idea how to merge. The ramp is to get up to speed so you can safely merge into traffic without causing the highway traffic to slow or the entire ramp be at a stand still because you were slow and are now stopped at the end of the ramp trying to merge into traffic.

i try not to let anything bother me while driving. i got dark tints up front so they cant see me anyway. but dont ever give me a 'buzz cut'. had some fool try that with me. caught up to him and gave him a double buzz cut that he'll never forget. bet he thinks twice before pulling that stunt again with anyone.

Impatient assholes who almost cause multiple accidents doing whatever they can to get around the asshole blocking the left lane.

My #1 is the same as yours. "Driving" in the passing lane is just moronic, you fail your drivers test for doing it, so why do it day to day? I hate it, so frustrating. Police should be a lot more strict about it.

Another one is people who drive painfully slow like below the speed limit, yet will run a stop light leaving you stuck at it, even though if they were not A-holes in the first place you would have made the light. Doesn't happen that often but its frustrating as well.

Other divers fall into three categories with me.

Gwakers - folks who slow down to stare at accidents. Had this MFAhole slow down to just about a stop take out his cell phone and take a picture as we drove by a car over turned on the other side of the highway. Jesus F'n christ grant me the power of the finger of death!

Brakers - folks who ride their brakes

I can't remeber my third catagory but

I see so many idiots yakking on their phone oblivious to what they are doing while driving. I saw some Billy-bob driving his pickup on the beltway with his elbows on top of the steering wheel and holding his phone texting.

My list:

- people who go into your lane just ahead of you right before stopping at a red light, without signaling.
- people on the highway who speed up only to hit their brakes a couple seconds later - you suck at aggressive driving.
- people who slow down approaching a green light intersection... then when it turns yellow, they accelerate, leaving you stuck at the red.
- people who feather the brakes while going a regular speed, for no reason at all.
- people in the left lane who change into the right lane coming to a red light just because there wasn't a car there... they prevent you from making that right on red which is permitted here.
- people who use the HOV lane as a personal cruising @ 60mph lane and there are a lineup of cars right behind them.
- people who stay in the right lane regardless of merging onramp traffic - and no, these people aren't getting off at the very next exit.
- people who are fugging oblivious that people may be behind them trying to get by, especially on local roads. These are probably the same people who stand in place unaware that people need to walk through their path.

Most states do not have exclusive passing lanes: http://www.mit.edu/~jfc/right.html ... only the ones listed as a green YES.

In my opinion, there needs to be consistent laws across America as far as lane rules go. Speed limits should remain varied of course.

Drivers going 65 in the passing lane, and when you have a clear opening to pass on the right, floor it until they reach the next car up in the right lane. Nevermind the mile of open road in front of them.

Every single thing that anyone does at any point while driving is almost definitely going to send me into a rage. Every single person on the road is a fucking idiot.

My favorite that I haven't seen mentioned is getting stuck behind anyone, ANYONE, at a 4-way stop. It seems that no one knows how to handle these situations. They will patiently wait for cars that aren't even near the intersection to pull up, stop, and then try to wave them through. And the other person will invariably say, "No, you go, I've got a stop sign." And the idiot in front of me will invariably say, "Have you now? I've got a stop sign as well. How perfectly droll. Well, as long as we're both stopped, why don't you go?" "No, you." "Please, I insist." "No, I wouldn't feel right. You." "I've already stopped. It seems silly to proceed without letting you go." "No, you." And by this point people have pulled up to the other two stop signs in the intersection and have joined in to a rising chorus of "No, you go"s and I'm watching all this and losing my fucking mind. A 4-way stop is proof of the need of government; people are utterly incapable of governing themselves.

2. Assholes who drive in the carpool/hov lane even if they're ineligible
3. Assholes that ride the exit lane and merge at the very last second
4. Idiots that have wide open space in their lane but will move over to your lane for no reason.
5. Group of 18 wheelers taking up 2 of the 4 lanes cause a giant bottleneck at the point.
6. Rubberneckers and people who slam on their brakes to read the electronic signs (amber alert..ect)

Cars with really bright headlights have been pissing me off lately. I'm surprised there isn't some kind of max brightness rule regarding headlights.

I feel ya - on all points. But this one made me chuckle. What's the point of mentioning the manual portion? The end result is easy to accomplish no matter what type of vehicle you drive: lift foot either entirely off the gas, or reduce pressure on throttle. You drop speed without brake lights.
