The radio interview that perknose posted seems to go into that in great detail. It's fascinating BTW. They simultaneously interview Dennilfloss and another ATOTer about the whole event. I never imagined him having a French accent, though I suppose I should have if I had thought about it.

he invented a girlfriend, and then quietly dropped it. someone asked what happened to her, and he said she was killed in a car accident. the internet found out there was no car accident, and then the cops were after him for murdering his nonexistent girlfriend.

I've read a bunch of his posts here on Anandtech, he seemed like a great lad.
Always interesting posts/threads. R.I.P my fellow Canadian. May you relax and soar high.

RIP. You will be missed by so many, even those who won't post here.

I have a hard time replying to these threads.

lets be honest:

We "see" other forum members much more than we do a lot of the people we call friends. We "talk" to them a bout things that we would never talk to our friends about. There are people on here I have "known" for well over a decade. I can only name a few people in real life that I regularly talk to who I have known that long.

We really are a big ol' extended family here. We may not always get along, we may not always agree, but in the end we are here for each other. Maybe this will help bring some reality to this place. Our words on here affect real people in real ways.

Thanks for the memories Dennil. Keep shining buddy!
Truth. :'(

I was extremely angry at Denis for the longest time for what I felt was his betrayal of our trust and his creepy, extended-troll dishonesty, as was the rest of the mod corps of that time, and for quite some time afterwards.

But . . . in recent years I came to see him as a gentle and highly erudite soul who might just have lived too much in his mind.

I am sad to see him pass. 🙁

Anyway, a radio interview with Denil.

wow, this interview is great

LOL, cmon denil, it's not the pointy KNEES that matter, it's the pointy ELBOWS! :colbert:

either this is super sad or hes massively adding to his already huge legend, in which case we need to carve his face on mt rushmore, even if he is canadian

when the nowhere mom stuff was happening, i was sitting in my parents house reading denis's posts and he said something like "im so angry i could kill a million people" and that always struck me as a very strange/funny line and i just heard him read it in that interview at 19:38.

in that interview they just mentioned "wombatwoman" anyone else remember that name? i cant remember too many names from those day (except maybe russ, red dawn, electric amish,...?) what ever happened to all those peeps?

One of the originals. I remember him from back when I was still a lurker over a decade ago.

Wow

I heard of this story but never saw the posts or this radio interview because I was pre-occupied with what was happening to me at the time.

BTW - What ever happened to Vapor?

I just read through all the posts in this thread. He was a pretty cool guy, was well liked around here, and will be missed.

RIP Dennil.
