two party is not the same thing is bipartisan.

Bipartisan is two parties working together on issues where they oppose eachother. The last time there was real bipartisan governing was under Clinton(and the presidents before him). Bipartisan went the way of the dodo when the GOP had control of everything under Bush. They got a taste total control/power of doing what ever they wanted when ever they wanted and now want to do that even though they do not have the votes. Well not all of them as most the the GOP Senators are sane(it was what 76-24 to invoke cloture to stop Cruz from filibustering) as are a good deal of Reps. The moderate Reps were just 17 GOP votes shy over overthrowing the tea bagging nutbaggery yesterday.

There should be no political parties whatsoever. Everyone should run on the merit of their ideas, and not the branding. Charge the current players with racketeering, and clear house.

No we need 5 or 6 parties that way the extremes on both sides(like the tea party and the far left) get marginalized and shit actually gets done.
 
I think this country would be much better of without the "big government". Let the states handle their own laws/become small countries and take over federal budgets.

Just like big corps, they have gotten WAY too big for their own good/or peoples.

That's my idea. If congress doesn't pass a budget (not a CR, a budget), it triggers automatic recall elections of every single one of them. House, Senate and President.

This is the problem we have. They dip their fingers in EVERYTHING.....and use money as they please.

Just focus on defense, leave everything else the hell alone.

that's the whole problem. The government doesn't know how to say "we can't afford it". They only know how to spend, not save.

I want a shiny new car but I can't afford one. So guess what...I don't buy one. It doesn't mean I'm broke, it means its not in the budget. OH WAIT...they can't pass a budget. When was the last time the federal government had a budget?

They tell the people not to live beyond their means, meanwhile they live more beyond their means than ANYTHING on this planet.

"Do as I say, not as I do"

And the fact that they CAN and are able to get away with it......to me it's all treason. Put these scumbags in jail and start the process of Auditing every lobby contribution they received/how they voted.....go after corps as well.

Put the bastards in jail and i guarantee once people see this it will never happen again.

If a business did their books the way the government does, the officers would be in jail. Shifting money between accounts just to make things look good, reporting loss as income, its all a scam.

Fire these assholes. Impeach them. Do whatever we have to do to get our country back.

And the Tea Party is gloating?

No way Obama and the Dems can do anything but what they are doing. If they give in then they are changing the entire nature of US government. Literally as few as 26 percent of voters are then running the US government because they threaten to bring down the country.

And I hope voters remember the huge hit the economy is taking from FUD over this and the debt ceiling. Throw in the sequester and its as if the Republicans are intentionally screwing the US economy. Well, its not "as if". They are screwing the US economy intentionally.

Actually the Tea Party favorites have been making statements just like Bachmanns "we got what we wanted"

I am surprised that so many right wing newspapers are praising the shutdown. Not just the extreme right wingers. Although, some conservative papers like the NY Daily News have not. Here's their front page today:

While the majority of the IRS is now shut down.

Taxes are owed when do or you will accrue penalties and interest. But you knew that.
