Well, it's dark by now. Let's see what's on the TV tonight...

Something's burning.

Y'all act like insurance is the be all end all solution. Getting an insurance payout takes eons and then you gotta rebuild. How do you make money in the mean time?

This is a very valid point. To me though I'm not risking my life when I don't have to.

Ever worked in a really bad area? The kind of area where you can't be after dark? These are generally the places that riots take place. I have worked in 3 different places in LA that experienced riots (not when I was there) Whether it was the Watts Riots or the Rodney King riots there is no way in hell I would have a business there without proper insurance and there's no way in hell I would be there after dark or during a riot. It just isn't happening. I went up on the roof of my building and pulled out .22 rounds out of the tar on my roof. No clue when the got there. Maybe it was Mexicans partying. Maybe it was during riots of yesteryears. Either way my life is worth risking for material goods.

Never been to Ferguson. No clue really how bad it is there. Maybe these people were never expecting problems when they opened their businesses. Must be horrible to see things change so much for the worse. However they just had a riot a few months ago. It's not rocket science that they could prepare for this one and get out of dodge.

What I was kinda curious about though is what kid of alarm service these people had and how that factors in. I had armed response and never showed up if my alarm got triggered after dark. Can you pay someone to protect your property for you during a riot? That could be a win-win.

If you have insurance you'd have to be a damn fool to risk your life for your business, IMO. If you don't have insurance, it would have to be considered. Losing your business is devastating and it could be worth considering if you think you can get enough friends to stand there with guns next to you.

Legally it seems dubious. In texas it's probably not dubious, but in most states it would be, so you'd need to legally construct it as keeping an eye on your property and having the gun only to defend yourself.

Flying an American flag upside down is not necessarily meant as political protest. The practice has its origin in a distress signal; displaying a flag in this manner is "a signal of dire distress in instances of extreme danger to life or property";[81] it has been used by extension to make a statement about distress in civic, political, or other areas.

I never said they were. But for people to say that, when it's black-on-black crimes, nothing is done within the community is asinine and reeks of ignorance. Again, just because you don't see something happening does not mean it isn't happening.

Yeah, that's why people are so incentivized to not fuck up in that society, because they have such a strong sense of moral and legal conviction to police their own.

yep, they're blocking some roads in south LA too.

Seriously. I don't care if you're protesting peacefully. Just don't fuck with the commute to and from work.
Bunch of scumbags. Don't these people work?

They blocked a ramp on the 110 last night. They literally just tried to tear down a fence to get on the 110 again but the cops stopped them. Those people really piss me off.

I get a kick out of all of these college students rioting and protesting. I bet if you stopped any of them and asked questions about the facts of the case they'd still be on the "hands up don't shoot" bullshit. Why? Because Macklemore told them so.

A ramp? They straight up got on the freeway and blocked both sides.

Blocking several streets in downtown. I'd be fucking pissed to get stuck in that.

Sigh, stupid networks stopping shows from airing to cover this.

Get back to what 99.9% of your viewers want to watch. :(
