Conservatives who cheer Limbaugh owning an NFL team probably cheered Marge Schott owning the Reds

Screw them. Let them walk, and Sharpton can shove it up his ass. I don't hold with blackmailers.

That is fine if they want to do it. But dont do it under some faux moral highground. Their league is littered with felons that create controversy weekly.

Most of felons in the NFL don't have national radio shows with which to spew their ignorance to millions of listeners daily.

No, but they have hoards of media outlets just the same.

And so what? What does that have to do with anything?

Fact is if the NFL tries to take some moral highground on this they will look like complete fucking dumbasses. Yeah, big scary Rush limbaugh will create too much controversy for our troubled league. We'd rather lay low and let a convicted dog fighter and vehicular manslaughterer back in the league. lol

Limbaugh sucks and it's none of Sharptons or anyone elses business if he buys a sports team.

Sure it is. Rev. Al is calling Rush Limbaugh a bigot who doesn't deserve to be an owner.
For once I agree with Rev. Al.

Actions have consequences. If the NFL selects Rush as an owner, don't be suprised by a huge boycott of the NFL. The NFL doesn't like controversy, so I expect that they will reject Rush as an owner-too much baggage.

LOL.. Yeah.. Suuuure. The NFL lets murders, rapists, and dogfighters back in. But its OMG just so controversial to allow Rush to be an owner. Please.

lol yeah the NFL has zero legs to stand on this. Rpaists, Murderers, Drug dealers, Dog killers and they are suddenly afriad of the controversy Rush would bring?

And while Al can voice his opinion why the fuck should the NFL listen to him? Is he offering to buy a team? Or is it just more race baiting from old Al?

Goodell should say to him: "The team is for sale. If you can come up with $500 million to $1 billion, it is yours and the controversy is avoided. Otherwise, STFU."

I'll have to do some research, but I don't recall what Al was doing during the Mike Vick saga or when Leonard Little (who plays for the Rams) killed a lady while driving drunk.

Is it upto goodell to put a price on a team? If the owner and him come to an agreement Goodell imo should just shut his yap and not try to take some faux moral high ground over a conservative talk show host while he lets Vick back in.

No, I didn't mean Goodell was establish the price; what I meant was that Goodell would just reiterate whatever the price would be.

No, it's my version of making you look stupid (not exactly a big challenge). In a way, Schott was more qualified to be an owner than Limbaugh.

The Rams? I though Rush was a Steelers fan? I guess loyalty isn't a GOP strongpoint these days is it?

This is getting good.

What are the qualifications to be an owner?

Warm up that peanut sized brain of yours before replying.

I just find it hilarious that people even argue about whether a person should be able to buy a pro sports team. Wtf. Would you give a shit if he bought a string of mcdonald's franchises in Detroit?

Sharpton has the same right as anyone else to express his opinion. It's getting more media attention due to his own public standing.

Limbaugh's a lying bigoted piece of shit who is also entitled to express his opinion. Sadly, when he does, all he spews is his own brand of hate and stupidity, and I agree with Sharpton that he would be a destructive element within the NFL. The statement from NFL players and reps make it clear they agree.

DeMaurice Smith, head of the NFL Players Association, said over the weekend that the union is against Limbaugh's bid and will do whatever it can to block him.

"Sport in America is at its best when it unifies," he said. "Our sport does exactly that when it overcomes division and rejects discrimination and hatred."

A number of NFL players say they won't play for the Rams if Limbaugh buys the team, including Giants defensive end Mathias Kiwanuka and Jets linebacker Bart Scott.

Good for them.

Oh, i dunno, maybe not being a bigoted/racist piece of shit, especially in a league where most of the players are African American, and not having been busted for oxycontin?

Also this:

I mean, you basically have 2 choices: let limbaugh speak his mind which would attract unwanted attention to the NFL and alienate players/fans or fine limbaugh whenever he says one of his bigoted things and alienate conservative retards who watch the nfl and also bring more unwanted attention.

Only a supreme retard owner (like, if you were an owner of an NFL team) would want to damage their image by letting limbaugh own a team when they go to vote on it.

I could give a shit about football. However, if Rush bought a team I would become very interested in rooting for any playing against him. Sounds like it might be a good idea. Put some life in the otherwise meaningless head butting buffalo men.

The standards for players and owners are different. If the owner is convicted of a felony they can't be an owner. See Eddie DeBartolo (one of the best owners ever).

There are other bidders for the team, I'm sure most of them have less baggage than Rush.

There aren't many people with the football skills of Michael Vick, that's why he's back in the league. There are plenty of bloated rich people that could be owners.

so you guys would ban a guy from owning a team because of something he said? yeah fuck that.

If you don't like him boycut the team. easy as that. but to say he can't own the team because of a racist comment is kinda ironic.

Players/Fans are exercising their opinions, what's wrong with that? Is someone drafting legislation to block limbaugh from owning the team?

The league/owners will vote on it, and if they block him from owning a team, will that go against some free market principle or something?

You would rather see a Nazi sympathizer be a sports owner than someone who had a previous addiction to pain killers?

Thank you dumbass. Now please lets hear you spin how Schott is a more qualified owner when your own qualifications is not being a bigot\racist :D

You slow today or something? I have already said they can do whatever they want. Whether or not he is allowed to own a team is irrelevant to me. I am arguing dont take the faux moral high ground then turn around and let convicted felons back in the league.

Of course not, i was making fun of you idiots.

What a person's views have SHOULD be considered when the NFL decides if that person should be an owner of an NFL team.

I'm not talking about some legal, or moral, or some sort of justice type thing, i'm talking about a sound business decision.

I said 'in a way' (she never got busted for drugs)

If you believe schott should have not been allowed by the league to own a team but think limbaugh SHOULD, then you're a hypocrite.

Heh I really dont care either way. But apparently you do and think Schott should be allowed and Rush shouldnt. Thank you for displaying your hypocrisy for all to see.

That spin was pretty weak as well. Drugs is your defining character flaw for not being an owner? How about the President of the United States?!?!?!?!?!?
