Nobody played when I moved to Canada, so I grew my own kids and taught them to play. When I go back stateside, its mtg/starcraft 1/DnD evernaught, homies.

I can't wait until my kid is old enough to play.
I kept ~10-15 decks that are just begging to be played.

So you're newly divorced? Congrats

LOL! Nah, I just have the chance to have a gf that doesn't care about my hobbies and respect them.

And since I just moved out of my city to move in with my gf, buying a house together and chillin as hell, I had to make new friends and quick because I was getting a bit lonely. It happened that the guys working at the FLGS were all tremendously friendly and invited me to their group. They play L5R, Magic, many LCGs and many board games. Some also play D&D5 which I might join in the near future.

Now all is well and i'm back at the awesome place in life I was before moving.

MTG is like any other addictive substance, you just have to be aware and know your limit and how not to cross it.

There's also the Clash Packs that are great ways to play MTG out of the box. The Theros and M15 packs are highly thematic. There's a new one coming soon too.

I still have my entire collection from back in the day. God knows what some of those might be worth now. Is there a decent site for MTG card pricing? My cards are going back easily to beta, chronicles, 3rd/4th edition.

Serious question is would any ATOT members be interested? Shoot a PM and we'll talk.

I started way back around unlimited, with the Dark, Antiquities, third edition (I think). Been sitting on my cards, and want to sell them, but a bit afraid of being screwed over by bogus buyers.

I have 27 dual lands from third, tons of other lands like Maze of Ith and Ice Age vaults, tons of good creatures and so on.

Dual lands look to be the highest value; around $60 a pop right now. When I first looked at prices about 5-10 years ago, they were going for $25. Wondering if I should just hold onto them, but apparently they reissued dual lands?

Yep they reissued many dual lands in the past series but the old ones are still worth a lot.

Wow. I bought ~15 or so back around 2000 for ~$15 each.

Hmm, yes, I eventually figured it out. Really know nothing about it though and I plan on keeping it that way!

KT

Can't blame you and there's so much "better" options out there for card games that cost a lot less to boot. But it's a fun and dynamic game and i'm lucky enough to have a nice community ranging from vets to casual players.

But i'd play Fantasy Flight Games LCGs before MTG if I had the chance

But MTG is still there and growing, the art is out of this world and the options are infinite. You just have to either have tons of cash to spend on carefully chosen singles or limit yourself to some boosters here and there for the fun of it and play with what you have casually.

That's cool man, sounds like you have it together. I used to be the same way about WoW (as far as addiction). Everyone should have a hobby whether it's games or working out or both. MTG sounds kind of expensive though, I used to play some cash shop RPGs and would easily drop 4K in a year on better gear.
