Funny, sounds like what the dems did to Bush. Payback's a bitch.

Sigh...this shouldn't have anything to do with payback. It should have everything to do with what is best for our country. Of course, you have already announced that you hope America suffers a lot because we "deserve it" so it isn't like your opinion matters on much.

Obama has already agreed with the republicans on the contraception issue. So it clearly helps to have dialog and air your disagreements and has had an effect.

Dissent helped the Democrats through the Bush years why cant it help the Republicans? Especially since they are basing some of it on traditional party values.

What are those values again? I ask that in seriousness.

I don't believe in the fraud called "hope." I believe in consequences.

Good, then you won't mind a tax increase on the rich to help pay for the damage that conservatives have done to our country.;)

It's going to take some serious obstructionism to do anything considering the Democratic majorities in the House and Senate. Seems kind of futile, but whatever. If people want to whine and stamp their feet like little kids who didn't get their way, more power to them I guess.
No, less power to them, I'm certain. However, there's some things going on behind the scenes we're not particularly hearing about.

Like Obama or hate him, this is not the way to help the Republican party recover. It will most likely backfire. At best, it will have little to no effect at all.
What happened to the traditional 100 days presidential honeymoon? Suddenly today I see that the R's are circling the wagons and refusing to cooperate with the D's. This may backfire. I'm wondering if the R's are going to go extinct. Is it possible a different party will emerge? I suppose not. Argh. One can hope.

Prop 8 was a very well-funded disinformation campaign, the signs and ads were at the least very misleading.
Little did awake Californians realize how much money and effort was put into the hate until after, which is why it will not last.

The Black vote sunk Prop 8 opposition. Irony at its finest.

Prop 8 in the African American community is a perfect example why churches should be taxed.

Of course they targeted the communities who value churches the most for information.

And they got used. Matters not though, it will get reversed soon.

Just goes to show that religiousness does not = good people, hopefully the African American people will learn this and shun the Caucasian religion foisted upon them during slavery.
Same goes for the 53% of Latinos who voted for Prop 8, (which is a much bigger group then AA's in CA) another strong church going group. Also with Christianity forced upon them.

No man made god will save you, it is up to yourself, these folks should be ashamed, but the worst are the mormons and the fundies for dividing communities and manipulating people with $.

It is not really any "groups' fault, it was the lack of organization, clear message and persistence of the no on 8 crew who were too arrogant to think hate would be so well funded in CA from out of state fundamentalist meddling.

Do you believe in taking action? That's what is happening right now. You may not believe in hope, but you have no choice but to wait for the consequences that you believe in. So, you can wait around pissing and moaning about how we are doomed or you can wait around hoping that those consequences turn out favorable for you and the rest of America.

While you are waiting, maybe you should also...I don't know...GO BUY STUFF! The government can only do so much. The people need to be buying. There is no other way around it. Saving out of fear is not the answer. That will only result in the "consequences" that you fear the most.
