Do you think your views on self defense and the role of government are about typical of the average subject in England? Or do your views lean a little to the left of your average bloke? The sample size here on ATOT is too small for me to really tell, just curious.

I'd definitely say they are pretty typical. My free speech views are something I talk to a lot of people about since I've been on here and everyone agrees. Everyone here also thinks that health care should be free, as it is here (in my experience) people (except criminals) agree that the role of police is how it should be and I don't know anyone that thinks you should have the right to defend yourself with violence against a police officer, except possibly the criminally insane, as for the role of government, I'm not sure I've never discussed it with people.

If your health care is free, who pays the doctors and medical professionals salaries, hospital construction, pharmaceuticals, etc.? Also, I remember reading headlines recently of a growing movement in the UK for greater self defense rights. Do you see a growing trend among some in the UK for wanting more rights in regards to self defense?

Also, are you surprised with the amount of peaceful protests in the US that happen without any gunfire? Given your comments, it stands to reason that you would think any sort of peaceful protest in the US is impossible given the amount of guns available.

Yeah there's definitely a growing movement of people who want to be able to kill people in their own homes etc.

As for who pays for our health care, it's taxed, it's payed for by our taxes. But free to everyone as a tax payer or not.

you have to realize that you don't have the same (size) anarchist movement in the U.S. as we do in the EU, there's a lot of them just touring Europe looking for protests to turn violent.

I haven't been to UK, but my grandmother moved from UK to Canada at one point.

We already had this conversation before. UK's violent crime rate is right up there with South Africa. It's more dangerous than the US in almost every way that can be measured. For some odd reason, people keep voting away their own rights in favor of chav rights. If you're a chav trying to break into a house, you're less of a criminal than the home owner who is trying to scare you away with a machete because he can't legally own a gun. Even the police are afraid of chavs because the chavs are carrying knives but the police only have little crappy batons.

I don't know how any country could fuck it up so bad. If the country turns into a police state, it should at least have a low crime rate. The police should carry automatic weapons and they should execute any chav carrying a knife.

You're right, it's usually American historians saying the USSR under Stalin was oppressive. What we need are more Russian historians to bring out the truth about how free of a society it was and how you could have political rallies without being murdered.
