They all use plausible deniability. Sometimes they go too far & become implausible. It's also important to realize that King need only retain plausibility in his very conservative, very rural & very white district in western Iowa. I figure a lot of them are getting sick of his shit, anyway.

Rails against illegal immigration, yet his district relies on it to work their dairy farms: See Nunes family dairy farm as example.

We have 9000 cops in los angeles. They would need to come with some serious shit to invade the city. Can the national guard be called in to squash insurrection or is that against the constitution?

That is in part what the NG is for. If a governor declares an emergency then they can be used to quell an insurrection.

An insurrection is one thing. Anarchy is quite another. We only hope that an outbreak of violent rebellion could be contained.

If another civil war did happen, what is stopping other nations from stepping in out of their own interest? Personally if this did occur I thinking we would end up being invaded to keep things from getting out of hand if nothing else.

Ok, let's say that 20k people decided to have a civil war. By what mechanism are we invaded by another nation? Who would try? To even begin this would require an army of 25 million plus with logistics to support it. So who is that?

I suspect that a rebellion would consist of dead people very quickly. There might be the occasional terrorist group but in time of rebellion we're likely invoking martial law and shoot first ask questions later may apply in certain situations.

No government takes rebellion lightly and rights go out the window.

I'm talking about if the country split in half like it did during the US Civil War. Another nation such as China does have the resources to invade us if we are too busy fight each other to repale them.

No kidding. And no sensible person in the US wants or is even calling for a rebellion anyway.

The geographical distribution of the malcontents disallows that.

Since there is nothing which could cause such a split it, imagining it does nothing. China can move 25 million people into the US? We still have the nukes and what happens when we kill all the Chinese politicians and their command and control centers with the heat of the interior of stars?

Any nation which tries an invasion will die. There is no distraction which could provide cover for such a thing. You would need every bluewater vessel on the planet to move that many and likely take months to years to even plan much acquire resources.

I'd bet on aliens from outer space first.

Steve King, showing again why he is unfit for office? No way.

You'll have to excuse me if I don't clutch pearls over his delusions. I don't think red states are too eager to make war on the blue states that subsidize them. Besides, this attitude has been taken before by the 'conservatives,' with counter productive results. You'd think they'd remember, what with their fixation on statues from that time.

These idiots can't even take over a Wildlife Refuge right. In the event they start acting like skinheads, I say we treat them like skinheads.

The burning of the South should never have stopped.

Very much Constitutional. President Washington used the Militia to put down the Whiskey Rebellion, once the Militia showed up the Rebellion very quickly agreed to pay the taxes on their whiskey.

If another civil war did happen, what is stopping other nations from stepping in out of their own interest? Personally if this did occur I thinking we would end up being invaded to keep things from getting out of hand if nothing else.

The most I could see happening is that Mexico and Canada would put troops along the borders to make sure it doesn't spill over into their countries.

The US is basically invasion proof. It's geography.

Not completely, but it would be incredibly difficult to pull off.

Is that what's actually happening? In another perspective, he's using a political cartoon to make light of political tension. Potentially a helpful thing to do.

All I'm saying is that it reads as the latter to me. I don't know him well enough to interpret differently.

Well he flew to Austria to meet with a party started by actual Nazis. So his motives may be less than pure.

The original comment was "another violent white person".

It's important to understand that if the champions of any group preach stupid violent shit long enough then members of that group will obviously act on it. It's that lynch mob/ witch burning mentality. Conservatives are particularly susceptible to such manipulation. Steve King does it clumsily.

I mean, it's perfectly obvious that Trump does it a helluva lot better.
What were you saying about motes and beams.

Good point. I guess some redneck area could raid a city but then they would run into a couple swat teams. I dont see it happening.

I don't see it happening either, but it would take a lot more than a few SWAT teams to stop the rural folks. You'd need to be willing to turn mechanized infantry or armed air support loose.

It's just sheer numbers.

You typically have one police officer for every 300 or population in an area, and of that a much smaller percentage is SWAT. SWAT would take many more than they lose, but attrition would carry the day.

The rural areas I am familiar with have more guns than people, and most boys learn to take a white tail deer at 200+ yards by puberty. Granted, they'd need to put down the cheap beer, and turn off NASCAR long enough to get together and do something.

At the end of the day though, many pawn would die on both sides, for masters that care not. And would be about the worst thing I could imagine for our country short of foreign invasion. And honestly, we could probably repel that and heal the wounds quicker than fighting our own.

Yes, I have and it's quite beautiful in parts. We are talking about people that took up arms against the United States all because they were afraid that they couldn't continue to own people. The same people were able to convince the poor whites to join or were conscripted in the Confederate Army. Most of the buildings that are still standing throughout the South from that period were owned by these same assholes. So I stand by my statement.

The loudmouths that keep spoiling for a War are spineless little deluded morons that live in a fever dream that the police and military will side with them if they go out lib killing. It would start with these assholes attacking people and places they know wouldn't be able to mount a solid defense or attack back. Most likely small groups of these anti-government/militia assholes - they'll hit and run.

All bolstered by Trump and the GOP. As much as some would like to wish that truth away, you can't.

Why any sitting Congressperson would post a meme about violence across the US is beyond me...

Does this guy even care about America?
The answer has been and continues to be, obviously, no.

Steve King is a white nationalist. He doesn't care about this country. He cares about white people having privileges that they've tradtionally had since the colonial era.

thats a racist statement.
It would be to you, ugly and starbucks, cause that be your colors. What I see is a statement that points out the irony that once more the terror does seem to stem from mooslims from shithole 3rd world countries... No its alt right wing white dudes... aka Trumps base.

But of course, you guys get instantly butthurt given quarter a chance... no integrity..
