The Onion will be America's salvation.

With one fencer every hundred feet, and paying them 50k/yr, 1.3b would cover almost 500 miles of border. I like this plan.

Wait, I haven't followed this for a couple days, but didn't the dems just agree to fund 55 miles of a wall for Trump? If so, why did they cave? Trump was plummeting in the polls during the shutdown. Let him bring it on again.

Did the dems just screw the pooch here, or am I missing something?

55 miles of fence isnt 3000 miles of rebar, concrete and steel. Its a decent compromise when the retard is in charge.

That funding was in the agreement that Trump rejected to create the shutdown.

president smoothbrains took an issue that wasnt political and made it one. He did more damage to the idea of border security by acting the way he did then if he didnt use it as a wedge issue.

Iirc, that church has been there for 125 years.

doesn't that make it older than Texas and shit? ...or something like that. Like I give a fuck about what some idiotic morons did to let themselves get meaninglessly slaughtered by defending forces reclaiming their land at the Alamo, from some assholes that thought they had some rights to some crap that never was theirs.

lol: Texas: Nothing but cowards and thieves, squatting on Spanish property.

OK, then it's a fence. Just read this editorial saying the dems caved which described it as a wall.

https://www.cnn.com/2019/02/12/opinions/border-wall-shutdown-deal-democrats-garca/index.html

We've had fencing there for at least 15 years so this won't change much.

Yes, it’s basically the same deal Democrats originally proposed before the shutdown that Trump rejected, only he’s actually getting $300 million less than that. So basically by rejecting the old deal and shutting the government down for a month the Master Dealmaker argued himself into a $300 million loss.

I’m sure he will pretend it’s the biggest win ever or something though.

lol.. Dems cramming stuff into that budget bill, baiting Trump to veto it.
but I think Trump is winning the long game.

everything he's doing is a distraction.
I haven't heard much about Russia probe lately, nor of the Dem controlled House subpoena Trump's people in front of committees. :(

Uh seems to be a bit of a standoff between Trump and the Senate GOP. Trump wants to see how many Republicans will vote for it. Senate GOP wants Trump's promise he'll sign if they pass it. lol

Alrighty Turtle just said Trump will both sign the bill and declare a national emergency to raid funds for his wall.

McConnell is embracing the declaration too. It's going to be lit when the next Democratic president declares a national emergency over something that people might actually agree with him on (healthcare, infrastructure, pollution, etc) to go around congress.

The House needs to insert "thou shall not exceed these appropriated funds" language into the bill.

If he does this we should just disband Congress. What use are they if the president can just ignore them and do whatever he wants?

McConnell looked extremely stressed.
I can't stand him but its hard to kick someone when they're down.
I can't imagine having to deal with this idiot, idiot Trump not idiot Mitch, that is.
I've taken my 4 year old niece to the market once in a while, so I know how stressful it can be to deal with a 4 year old.. Trump included.
I can see it happening, Mitch a nervous wreck and not at all happy about this national emergency thing yet Mitch had to also take into account Trump has that red button under his desk.
That red launch button.
So Mitch has to weigh the options.
A national emergency.... or nuclear war?
Nukes or emergency?
Emergency or nukes.
Poor Mitch. He pretends to be an ally to Trump but in private I can only imagine the cursing and throwing things around the room.
