It's all a matter of callous deception. The GOP keeps their flock nicely frothed up & irrational over social issues while robbing them blind. No matter why they vote GOP, it comes with more trickle down, harder & deeper than before. It's all about Godless soshulism, guns, gays, abortion, welfare moochers, racial animus & the Mexican invasion threat.

The sad truth is that parts of red state America would become economically non-viable w/o federal funds coming in & they hate it desperately. They just haven't figured out that the Job Creators don't see them as a viable source of profit they can expand upon so they just suck 'em dry & blame the democrats.

They've been doing it from the moment Trump announced his candidacy. They were lost and wandering around looking for somebody to fulfill their dreams of having the Nazi Party fully legitimized and respected by the nation, of having a theocratic form of gov't., of shutting down the borders (the southern one only of course) and of banning gay marriages and abortions.

As an aside, Trump promised them all of those things and more. So when he took office this match made in hell was struck where Trump was obligated to them for his ascension and his holding on to power and they were obligated to him for giving them the legitimacy and ability to forward their unpopular single issue agendas.

Therein lies Trump's base ability to ignore every single lie and false promise he's told them and made to them. He is the only "politician" that would go where no other Repub wanna-be leader dare to go. Trump has surrounded himself with an oddly conflicting hodgepodge demographic made up of the dregs of society and folks that felt they had no one else to turn to and speak and act on their behalf.

As horrific and dangerous as it sounds, these are the folks who make up a large portion of Trump's base and they are, through Trump, the ones calling the shots in the party. This to me is why the party is in such disarray, in such a bewildering state of affairs.

This unholy matrimony between Trump and his base needs to be annulled before the nation can expect to regain any resemblance of its former self. Trump's base is feeding off of the power Trump has anointed them with and they realize it is only through him that they will possess any kind of influence over the body politic.

You guys know what the game is here right? Try to shame the Democrats into voting for something that they can later turn around and blame the Democrats for voting for. Regardless if those same people were the ones trying to shame the Dems into voting for it in the first place. I can barely wrap my head around the circle logic of these people. One of my childhood friends from Maine is Coast Guard, Maine Maritime graduate too. Real sailor. That he is busting his hump in this kind of weather and now doing it for free, on account of Il Douche's tantrum, is just shameful to me.

Once the Dems take over the House on the 3rd, they will pass supplemental legislation and rescue the hundreds of thousands of fed employees and contractors who don't deserve this petulant crap - once more making them look like the adults in the room.
