Reddit troll Violentacrez exposed

why does a troll on an interwebz forum gain so much attention? how does he compare to some of the trolls here?
 
it was related to some of the subreddits that had questionable content that he ran and modded.

he did get fired irl because of that.

Doxing people is distasteful, but fair game AFAIC. If you don't want your identities linked, secure your shit.
 
Violentacrez was featured on CNN's anderson cooper because of his jailbailt subreddit. It got shut down because of that report an also somethingawful waging a campaign against it. He also started a subreddit called r/creepshots that took pictures of women in public (sometimes teenagers). One teacher got in trouble with the law because he took pictures of his own students and posted them up.
 
I don't understand why the hell anyone cares. Reddit has some holier than thou attitude that I absolutely despise. There is no story at all, whatsoever.
 
This guy sounds like more than a troll. Encouraging stalkerish behavior and posting underage pics goes way beyond internet trolling.
 
Why take the guy to a level where he would lose his job?

Why didn't reddit just ban the guy?

If the guy was posting questionable material, and reddit allowed the behavior to continue, isn't reddit just as guilty?
 
This guy was dumb because he was doing meetups with other reddit people. It was only a matter of time before he was found out. Anyone know what his job was before he got fired?
