What does OT have to do with P&N? In OT you were a fun guy whose posts I enjoyed. Now you are a bitter individual that comes awfully close to being a full blown troll. So, if you want to bring OT up -- you've managed to downgrade yourself.Originally posted by: conjur
Hunh? BTW, I've seen many of your past posts in OT...you're one to talk of bitterness.Originally posted by: Mill
It is sad how conjur seeks the bad out of everything he disagrees with. Such bitterness and intolerance.

I guess that definately means the Red states out the Blue on that count.
Not at all. If a company donates lots of money to improve its public image, all the more power to them, and I'm not going to look at it as a lesser contribution than a simple donation from somebody else.I hope you're joking.

The only people who think I'm bitter are the die-hard Bush fans and those who practice their bigotry against others, esp. gays.

I love conservative values as we find in the red states. There is a strong sense of self reliance that reduces any false need to give. Then when a neighbor is truly in need, it's not at all unlikely that the whole community will respond. Everybody knows everybody and everybody is in some sense a part of the family. And red state people have have a pride in the fact that they give. They will tend to give more than their share just for the sake of it. You red state people are fantastic people.

Maybe that is becasuse most of the big evil corporations are near the largest cities which are in the Red States???
I will give you an example of what I mean most states that are red have a very large City in them. One example is Illinois which contains Chicago. Generally however the people living in and around Chicago vote, the rest of the state is stuck with going along with that due to how the state has decided to vote their electoral votes which they have allotted.
Another thing to consider is that many of the Red States are in an area where the cost of living and wages are higher.

The funny thing is that you are laughing because you think he was writing sarcasm. Perhaps he thought he was too. But, that is pretty much the way it is down here. I'm sure most of you non-Southerners can't fathom the idea as fact so I won't bother myself trying to convince you how close to the truth Moonbeam's sarcasm actually falls.

conjur, out of curiousity, how much money have you given at all to charity, most likely from a blue state? I won't let you know how much I give unless you wish to know.... But just by the tone of your posts, i'd assume you give very little, if nothing and only spewing your bitter material because you and your party of choice can't compete on a higher level.
I hope you can eat your words, but since you belong to the Red states and I m not surprise; I live in Connecticut and I think the article is wrong, Mill is just using this article to show how narrow is his thinking. The liberal favorite charity is the government

Good point.Originally posted by: Strk
They most certainly are not in an area where the cost of living is much higher. In my "evil" blue state, you can't find a decent house (3-5 room, 1 bath and maybe half an acre) for under 200k, unless you go to a piss-poor neighborhood.Originally posted by: piasabird

Seriously, why is no one mentioning that the average housing costs and other things differ greatly between red and blue states?
