Mythbusters did it on TV. After the filtering, only the vodka expert could tell the difference, and even then he said it was very close. However, after using $16 worth of Brita filters you realize the stupidity of this exercise. You might as well just spend $16 more and get good vodka to begin with (and avoid all the time and effort wasted).

Really, what does that do when you filter it through a Brita?

So did you hit it or not? :p

It must be my Ukrainian origins, but I can't recall ever becoming ill from vodka.

Rum, yes. Beer, absolutely. But vodka? No.

Yes, but I paid a high price. She took me back to her place and made me watch a chick flick first (Love Actually). It was well worth it though because she said "I'm not looking for a relationship, this is just animal attration. I hope you're okay with that."......ummmmm fvck yeah!

It's bad too because she's new here (came down from Michagan a month ago) and works with my ex gf! Revenge fvck FTW!

Grey Goose is the most overrated vodka in the world. They make it look all fancy and foreign. Look up it's origins and you would be shocked and surprised.

I am a Stoli man.

I am a Stoli man.

It could be made in New Jersey for all I care. IMO, it's the best tasting vodka out there.

If you like Grey Goose try Costco's Kirkland branded vodka. I bet you will find that it tastes very similar to Grey Goose. (As in exactly like it, without the expense)

If it is a gift though you are better off just buying something else.

The best vodka is the cheapest vodka. Mix it with either Bloody Mary mix or Roses of Lime and you can't tell the cheap stuff from the "premium" brands. ;)

We normally just buy the huge bottles of Grey Goose from Costco and we love it, nothing more in a vodka is really needed especially since we rarely drink it straight however i want an expensive bottle of vodka but at the same time a good one. One that we can drink straight is prob what i am looking for.
Not sure what stores would carry such things anyway other than Beverages & More in the San Fernando Valley. That is where i am headed to later so if anyone can tell me what to look for, a specific brand, or anything would help

-edit-

most of you said to go with GG. I do not WANT GG. I LOVE GG but it is like the Patron of the Tequila world, great tasting but common and not expensive (compared) to other ultra premium tequilas like Don Fernando which is upwards of $200 a bottle, or Milagro etc.
GG, Belvedere, Level, Chopin, etc are all good but they are all $40-50 (for the large costco bottles) i am looking to spend upwards of $200 on a single 750ml bottle

Picture of most of the alcohol i have at home right now, i obviously do not need more GG lol

Vodka isn't like tequila to where it get's better with age, or being aged in an oak barrel or something, so you're not going to find a 200 dollar bottle. The most I've seen a bottle cost is around 50 or 60 for Ultimat Vodka, don't know if it's any good or not.

Grey Goose is pretty much the top of the heap as far as vodkas go.

I drink it straight up after being shaken with ice. I wouldn't add mixer to GG that's for sure. That's what Skyy vodka is for.

And the poster above me is correct, vodka isn't aged so you aren't going to find uber expensive ultra premium vodkas. $50-60 is about the maximum I've seen.

Yeah, but what do 4 Brita filters cost? Might as well just buy decent vodka and save yourself the trouble of filtering it.

eh we still mix it youc an tell a difference in drinks like vodka redbull, if y ou use even smirnoff, skyy, etc you can taste the alcohol more than if you use GG

i k now there are expensive Vodkas out there but i know Vodkas are different when it comes to quality, price doesn't = good and i asked this so i wouldn't spend $150 on a vodka that was worse than GG. I can live with it being just as good though
