People here can't seem to grasp that it's ok to like a Blackberry and there's nothing wrong with it.
BlackBerry's do a great job doing what they do. Best reception phone I ever owned.
They also tend to get apps before Android 🙁

What's the battery life like? I'm curious as to how significant, if at all, the effects of OS6 will be. The engadget review was positive about it, but I always like hearing from non-review sources.
Well the physical battery and the mAH rating on it is smaller on the Torch 9800 versus the Bold 9700, so that alone would infer that the battery life is less. I started 8/11/10 (yesterday) morning at 6:15AM on a full charge and right now I'm at about 50% battery life (its 9:19AM EST). So thus far the battery life is still pretty good. I may have charged it for 5min at work yesterday inadvertently since I hooked it up to my work PC to transfer some files (it charges the phone this way too) but I also most likely used it more the past day than I normally would later on just "playing" with my new toy 🙂.
I'm not sure what dual core Androids has to do with this thread.
Me either.
Who is to say that any lags in BBOS6 are due to the hardware?
Why is an Android phone with 2.2 faster than when the same phone had 2.1? Clearly the hardware was not the cause of the lag and delays. So too could it be with BB and OS6.
Lag comes from both hardware and software. Both the hardware (600mhz) and software (BB06) is causing the lag on BB.
What I'm getting at is that BB is just now introducing 600mhz whereas new more powerful processors are coming soon. If RIM wants to stay relevant, they need to do something about it.

How do you know?
It's called common sense. Any lag that is involved in any platform comes from both the hardware and software.

6. You Give Priority to Experiences that Prove You're Right
Everybody you know is getting an Android phone! What's more, it seems like Droid phones have taken over your city's billboards, and absolutely nobody wants to keep their BlackBerry anymore. Or, you know, maybe that's not the case at all. When you or somebody else puts a container around your experiences ("Everybody's heading to Android"), your brain can do funny things to your experiences, tinting everything toward a certain conclusion while drastically minimizing, say, those 10 people in line at the coffee shop, all checking their BlackBerries. Put another way, "If you're a hammer, everything looks like a nail."
Not necessarily.
If that were always true Android 2.2 wouldn't be any snappier performing than 2.1 on the same phone.. which it is.
Right.
This means that any performance issues comes from either software or hardware or both. Simple logic
All you're doing is stating the obvious and claiming it as facts to back up your argument. It's like saying Global warming is due to the Sun being hot. It's true, but it doesn't explain anything and has no context.
Then please tell me, my friend, where do performance issues come from? I'm not gonna go into a huge spiel and explain why and where performance issues come from.
If a phone is slow its 1 of 2 things or both.
#1 Hardware
#2 Software
If ice is a solid, then I'll say its a solid, I'm not gonna go into explaining how the molecules are closer together compared to water vapor.
I don't have the time nor the money to try every device. So I read, a lot. I also watch video reviews and do my own analysis of what I think of the device.
This means that any performance issues comes from either software or hardware or both. Simple logic
That's not really what you said, though. You said that any performance issue is both a hardware and software problem or inadequacy... when it's not necessarily both at all.
It's one or the other or both. This is what I'm saying.
That's what you're saying now, you mean.
