rebates are always different for bestbuy.com and for the actual store. to be honest with you, i think you might have voided your $30 rebate by buying it online.Caveman2001 quote...
It's valid because I paid for the item in the store. I odered it online, but the transaction was done in the store.
I totally stand corrected!
Thank you zayened!
I called BB to verify the rebate would work since I bought it online for in store pick up and the guy said NO, it would not work.
So, I went back to the store and the CSR desk kindly let me do a return and then a re-charge as if I bought it in the store. Thankfully, everything will work fine now.
I hope other At'ers will read this and know that zayened is correct. Rebates are definitely restricted to how you purchased the item. If it's in store, then there must be an in-store rebate. If it's online, there must be an online rebate. No exceptions!
Thanks for the headsup. You saved me $30.00

Is the Quick Switch Program Selector (the very bottom button under the cruise control) supposed to work right out of the box or do I need to program it with the given drivers. I didn't bother to install the software because I've heard it interferes with some games. Does anyone have info on this?

You will need the Mouseware utility for your mouse to function properly. It's a piece of cake.
Also, I did have problems with the utility in Unreal 2. I would get a mouseware memory address failure. Just turn off the mouseware before you fire up a game if you have problems with it.
Just restart mouseware when you are done playing.
That's what I did.
As sexy as this mouse is, I don't really like it all that much compared to my MS Explorer 3.0. The MX700 is shaped better and cordless, but that's about it. It clicks loud and the 3 extra buttons in the center are pretty pointless at the defaults. Plus the USB cable on the base station is way too short. It's supposed to be 8" away from any electronic devices but has to be within 4 feet from your computer?![]()
So what you're saying is...only the most important things are better? The MX700 is shaped better and cordless, but that's about it.

I think this mouse may be like other logitech mice. A previous mouseman felt too heavy for me. I opened it up and there was a 1" square steel plate in there. I liked it alot better after I pulled the plate out. I don't particularly feel like voiding my warranty the night that I bought something, but it's something to think about. I couldn't locate a screw hole, either.

I can't believe it made it into the driver release and remains unfixed! That said, the mouse is most excellent!![]()

Use the latest drivers, the one in the box used to crash constantly. You may not have any issues with the new drivers.
I think it was posted in this thread that the PS/2 option causes less problems? As for jumpiness and scrolling issues, I noticed that very quickly. The latest drivers on the website fix it, and the mouse works perfectly now (I'm using USB).

I don't understand using USB for a mouse since that uses up an available port that could be used for other devices. The PS/2 ONLY works with a mouse, so why not use the mouse there? Also, most BIOS, boot disks, boot up utilities, etc will not recognize a USB mouse, but they'll handle a PS/2 just fine.
Anyone care to explain to me the advantage of using USB over PS/2? And I don't count the extra length needed for an adapter behind the computer, because you're not supposed to have the back of your computer pressed up against a wall anyway!
Even though your <sarcasm> has failed to entertain me, I will be a good AT'er and give you a link about the advantage/disadvantages of USB/PS2.
