Well like I said earlier I resent in my $30 mir for the 80GB maxtor drive and now for some reason it shows up as a $50 check for a $120GB drive:eek:

And before you ask, yes I already got confirmation on my $50 for the 120GB so now I have two $50 checks showing up as valid!

I wouldn't get too encouraged yet. Between the two $30 rebates for the 80gb Maxtor, I've had the status change on one of them twice, and on the other three times. It took about three emails just to get a clear answer as to why each was denied. I can't even count how many more I've had to fire off before I finally got them both approved. I got every excuse from they have no record of one of the UPC's, to only one check per household per item, to I submitted them both for the same offer. When I started throwing around terms like "Federal Trade Commission" and "Better Business Bureau" and "class action law suit" suddenly because I was such a valued Maxtor customer they would extend me the courtesy of creating a new record.

I guess the moral would be don't give up if your being denied. According to the terminology on the forms, they are obligated to honor both of them.

Good luck all!!

Did your status ever change from valid to invalid?

Yes, as I said between the two rebates the status changed back and forth five times. I would get one rep to approve it, then a couple of hours later I would get an email saying "sorry the misunderstanding but..............."

Right now I'm fighting with them about what they say is the wrong UPC for an $8 slim jewel case reward, which is actually a UPC for a $20 CDR reward. Funny thing is they already approved the jewel case submission with a separate record.

I'm beginning to think they intentionally try to confuse the issue, so we'll just go away scratching our heads!

Lo and behold...sometime in the last 2 days, one of my two $30 Maxtor rebates has shown up as valid. Quick question, is there a way to know which one it is? I couldn't find any Dept number or anything to tell whether it was the Staples or Maxtor $30 rebate.

The only way I know of is to email or call 1-888-241-6208, and ask which offer # has been validated.

No, but I just got my $35 Fry's Cigar 64MB USB drive rebate from December 26! So it sounds like you have a few months left to go. LOL

Same here. although I got in on the ones with the ink. I was very surprised at how quick they arrived.

The real issue for me is not validity, but simply getting them to send the money.

I have some rebates that are "valid" as of end of March through April 11 - all say "will ship within 30 days".

Nope. And even email and phone calls yield only "this is valid, just wait."

Looks like it was too good to be true:( they denied my second $50 for the 120G, not that it matters since that wasn't what I was supposed to get. However that now means they still don't have any record showing my second $30 rebate for the 80GB maxtor I got and that makes me mad, especially since I resubmitted it.

Good news! I just got that IOGear USB2.0 PCI card $10 rebate, that I was worried about, today June 10, 2003.

Bought from Fry's during their sales $10 - $10 Rebate = Free. Originally submitted on April 6, 2003. So about 2 months. Also I was finally able to check the status of my rebates from Parago/RebatesHQ.com, since someone earlier posted saying they cleaned up the database there. All my current rebates, show up there now.

Thanks guys!

In past 3 years or so, I've gotten 100% of all submitted rebates (100-150). Sometimes I have to call, e-mail, or whatever. I am persistent.

Early Feb. I purchased a Buslink RW-5252 CD-RW drive from MicroCenter (ordered 2/4/2003, received 2/7/2003). Mailed rebate form, original UPC, and original sales receipt to correct address (Hagerstown, MD) on Feb 8, 2003.

Haven't heard from them since. Started to follow up with phone call April 21st to 1-877-684-6462 (snotty person answers phone!). Since then have placed 6 phone calls, left messages at various dead-end places, sent 4 e-mails, reported to FTC, reported to BBB. Buslink has been 100% non-responsive.

Any other experiences or suggestions? Points of contact?

Or should I change my first sentence to read "99% of all submitted rebates"?

BEWARE OF BUSLINK REBATES OR PRODUCTS !!!!!

WATCH OUT FOR BUSLINK REBATES/PRODUCTS!!

I agree, I had terrible trouble with a buslink rebate going to Hagerstown. 2 months after I sent in the rebate I had not heard from them, so I started calling. I never even got anyone on the phone - I would leave a message but no one ever called back. Their website has one of those crappy webform query things. I tried that and I actually got a response saying my rebate was valid and processing. So I thought, great. Well, another month went by and no check. More calls, leave message, no call back. Another webform query, no response this time. Repeated emails to support@buslink.com and Rebateinfo@buslink.com failed to get any response. I was really pissed, figuring this rebate was lost (made me mad because I haven't failed to collect a rebate yet). Well, finally the check did come, much to my surprise. All told it took 4 or 5 months. What a bunch of a**holes. I will not buy another buslink product if there's a Hagertown rebate involved.

It sounds like you tried everything I did except the webform thing. Try that, I guess - can't hurt. I wonder if you could find an email for a buslink executive? An angry email to an exec might do some good. Good luck.

Quick question: How long does it usually take for rebates to be entered in the system at rebateshq.com and rebatestatus.com? I want to know how long I should wait before I start to worry, because I have several rebates coming in and none are posted yet.

Rebate for Dlink DWL-650 bought from Amazon.com never come. Filed on Jan-03 for $20. Now the DWL-650 becomes an expensive purchase considered it's a mediocre product. They said they never received it. How do we know that they don't randomly trash the rebate mail "accidentally"?
SMC-2004WBR rebate submitted at the same time arrived.
Motorola SurfModem rebate from circuit city submitted at the same time arrived.
All TaxCut rebates arrived on time as promised.

I have only received one confirmation for the two $30 rebates for the 80MB drive purchased from a BM Staples. That confirmation was received rather quickly. It was the one I had submitted on the Staples rebate form that is printed out with the receipt, offer 03-57316. I believe this is true because I used another of my email addresses on the Maxtor 03-57312 offer. At the Maxtor site they redirect you to RebatesHQ so you can not do anything there. Earlier on the Maxtor site I was able to initiate a search for the 03-57312 but it seems to have vanished recently. However at the time I did they stated they would not respond to any submission that is not at least six weeks old.

I have not seen any postings to date confirming two confirmations.
Use the link below to submit a status for a specific offer after six weeks of document submission.

Post regarding $80 and $60 rebates for the 120gb drive at circuit city on 4/24.

My rebate isn't information available on Young America's site. I called them today (6/12) and a lady confirmed that they haven't received my rebates. She told me to mail copies of the rebates to:

Western Digital Rebates
P.O. Box 8600
Young America MN. 55551-8600

I was told if my rebates don't show up within 2 to 3 weeks after submitting the copies I should call them and try to fax copies over.

Has anyone else had anything strange happen with these rebates, or is anyone else still waiting on Young America to find his/her rebates?

What a bunch of bullsh*t...you can't tell me the post office loses that many rebates...your first set "doesn't arrive" and then the second set *might* not show up, so you'll have to fax a third set?!? Sounds to me like they are prepared to string people along for another 2 to 3 weeks and then if you're persistent enough to fax...they might finally pay out. If it wasn't such a pain in the butt and expense we should submit rebate stuff with a signature required for receipt...then you'd have proof it arrived.

The one of mine that's showing up is the Staples one and not the Maxtor one also...hopefully they're just slow with the second one and it'll be processed soon. So far I've received 100% of my rebates from rebateshq without a hassle...I'm still holding out hope this one will show up soon. But, thanks for the link if it doesn't.

Stinking Best Buy... the rebate for the Cordless Elite Duo deal just came back rejected. The deal was a pricematch with CC from $99 to $60, and then a $50 rebate from Best Buy. The reason they gave was "invalid receipt," and the pricematch line was circled on my rebate receipt. That's a load of B.S. I read the terms of the rebate carefully, nowhere did it say it was invalid with a pricematch (or any other deal except another rebate). Besides which, they printed out a REBATE RECEIPT when I bought it. Stupid Best Buy. Now I have to wait even longer for my $50. They're going to pay though!

FYI.. I just found out that easierrebates.com is usually the rebate house handling the rebate for Officemax if the product has a submission for easierrebates.com. So.. In order to get a hold of them, use the 1-800 number that is provided on the rebate form for Officemax. I found this out the hard way.

I had a problem with an online submission through easierrebates.com, so I used their email form and I still haven't received a response from two emails (it's been over a week now). I found a toll number for easierrebates on their privacy page and tried to call it, but it just rang. Desperate (because the deadline was drawing near on the submission), I called the toll free number on the rebate form for the product that Officemax provided to see if they had a better way of getting me in touch with easierrebates.com and they said that they WERE easierrebates.com. I gave the CSR my claim number and fixed the problem within seconds.

Now.. It pisses me off that easierrebate just doesn't give us the toll free number on their site. If they don't want people calling for particulars on rebate forms, stop denying our claims for stupid little reasons. Or.. Make it truly easier to submit a rebate.

I got that very same deal. I'm glad that the BB CSR gave me my rebate receipt for it. Next time you should try either having a rebate receipt reprinted later or just cut the one side of the receipt off that says price match. Sorry about your troubles. Did you try calling Best Buy's rebate house yet to talk to them about it?
