DAH the maxtor 80gb deal from staples fell through so far, im gunna call them saying they said they would allow me to send a copy of the UPC symbol, i have another copy of it at home, but this bites, only one non valid havent gotten another one back for the second part.

I've talked to rebateshq several times now and sent them compies of my rebate and receipt several times, each time they say they will take care of it. Moments later it shows up on their website but it's for the $50 mir for the 120GB WD. If I waited a little bit longer then it would come back as invalid:| I emailed them, they sent me an automated response saying it was now valid and being processed.


I'm not sure what to do now or who to call since it seems like they can't fix the problem:|

rebateHQ is showing Omax $20 rebate for the Khypermedia CDR 100 pack as a invalid UPC

anyone else getting that?


best way to tell them they are full of cr@p?

Mine showed as invalid UPC for the product of Kingston DDR (it was supposed to be the khypermedia cdrs)

Call them and get it fixed (you did save copies just in case right?)

I called the number on the rebate form (and a number listed in this thread) they both linked me to the same voicemail system. (800-477-3314)

if i remember right started with option 3.. forget what else I hit to finally get hold of a live person (i did get disconnected twice though)

Got 2 in today. $80 from WD for the 120 GB OM deal on 4/27/03; and $20 from Kingston on the PC2100 DDR deal on 5/4/03. The Kingston was initially rejected but they fixed that over the phone.

not sure if this is the right forum or not, but does anyone here have the dell rebate for 1gb kingston compact flash that expires june 30th? apparently the link to the rebate doesnt work anymore...PM me if you hvaew it, thanks.

Got 1 x $20 rebate (OM) for Kbyte PC2100 DDR in April (still need manufacturer's rebate)

Got 1 x $20 rebates for the Kingston PC2100 DDR in April (still need OM rebate)

Got my 1 x $30 rebate for the WD 80 gig HDD (waiting on the $20 from OM)

Got my 1 x $20 rebate for the Phonemate 2.4Ghz CID phone

Interestingly, Easierrebates combined the Kbyte $20 rebate and Phonemate (OM) rebate onto one check for $40.

Here's my late rebate complaint for the week:

> Two Logitech Mouse $10 rebates from CompUSA purchase on 3/16 and 3/17. Rebate forms go to Parago. Mailed rebates on two separate days (3/17 & 3/19). Parago added them to their data on 5/1 saying they will send it in 30 days. It took them 6 weeks from the time I mailed the rebate forms until they procesed them. It's now another 6 weeks and they still have not cut the check. I called Parago and talked to a CSR and "supervisor". They could not explain why my rebates are late. Tell me to wait another 30 days. "Supervisor" hung up on me when I kept asking him to exlain the delay. I used planetfeedback.com to email my complaint to Logitech CEO.

I purchased my 120G drive from CC on 4/24 (valid for $10, $60 and $80 rebate).

Sent rebate on 5/20
I called on 5/27 - not in system
called on 6/5 - spoke to Diana "not in system - wait 3 more weeks" (yeah right)
called today - spoke to Ginette pid 1628 - not in system - pls refax

fingers crossed.

well i guess i badgered them into submission :D

i emailed the rebatehq.com( rebates@parago.com ) when i found out that my rebate was invalid.

the responded, i emailed back, they responded, i email back

must of exchanged 5 or 6 emails with them... i wasn't rude, but i was firm in the fact that i had sent all the right stuff in and i expected my rebate status to be changed to valid. :) :)

I got that very same deal. I'm glad that the BB CSR gave me my rebate receipt for it. Next time you should try either having a rebate receipt reprinted later or just cut the one side of the receipt off that says price match. Sorry about your troubles. Did you try calling Best Buy's rebate house yet to talk to them about it?

I did get a rebate receipt, but it had the pricematch on it. The pricematch part was right below the the product, couldn't be cut off. I haven't called them, but I wrote them a letter.

I have only received one confirmation for the two $30 rebates for the 80MB drive purchased from a BM Staples. That confirmation was received rather quickly. It was the one I had submitted on the Staples rebate form that is printed out with the receipt, offer 03-57316. Earlier on the Maxtor site I was able to initiate a search for the 03-57312 but it seems to have vanished recently. I have not seen any postings to date confirming two confirmations.

The one of mine that's showing up is the Staples one and not the Maxtor one also...hopefully they're just slow with the second one and it'll be processed soon. So far I've received 100% of my rebates from rebateshq without a hassle...I'm still holding out hope this one will show up soon. But, thanks for the link if it doesn't.


As you can see from the following response Maxtor is going to force me down the the hard road to receive the second $30 rebate on the 80MB drive. I will pursue to the end or return the drive.

So the question is, who should we go after? Staples, for false advertisement? RebatesHQ, for their screw up or Maxtor for not honoring the rebate?

Say we go after Maxtor! They are the one's that had the deal and they should be responsible for it.

Does anyone have the ad that this particular deal was in?

Again it was an 80GB IDE maxtor hard drive with 8MB of cache with two $30 mail in rebates.


**edit. after reading the original post it was maxtor that had the rebate.

Just an updated FYI...

If you submitted any Hi-Val, I/O Magic or Digital Research rebates to Rebateservices.com (Santa ANA CA 92799-5242), make sure you follow up on them. For the THIRD time in a row, my submission does not show up in their computer system and I had to fax it to them (the latest one if from February). Thank God Officemax is just doing the rebate on Hi-Val stuff on their own now.

Google is your friend...

Looks like they are handling their own rebate. Be sure to print out the contact website in case you have to call them about your rebate. :)

Did anyone here take advantage of that Sennheriser HD580 deal at Newegg late last year? Newegg said they came with a $20 rebate from Sennheiser, and included a link to a rebate coupon.

Well, I sent in the rebate and I just (JUST) got a card in the mail telling me that the rebate was denied because Newegg is not an auhorized dealer.

I guess I can complain to Newegg, but my experience with their customer service is not favorable.

Anyone else?

Has anyone actually received the $25 McAfee Spamkiller rebate (Best Buy) from 3/23-3/29/03? The one that says it should arrive in eight weeks, and still shows no signs of being mailed after twelve?

Talking to Parago about rebates that are valid but not being paid on time is about as effective as talking to a brick wall.
The McAfee CSR I spoke with agreed to file a "rebate dispute" a few days ago. We'll see what that means...

I didn't submit that particular rebate, but if the rebate terms don't specify anything about authorized retailers, I would go ahead an complain to Sennheiser AND NewEgg. Sennheiser because of the vague rebate terms and conditions, and NewEgg because they advertised the rebate and bear a responsibility to ensure they are a valid place of purchase for the items they offer with rebates.

I don't know if that will get your rebate or not, but my two cents.
