Anyone ever get the Biostar rebates for the m7ncd-pro motherboard? I sent mine 10/24/03 and still haven't received it. I called them today and they said the check was scheduled to ship in 7 days. Yea right....

I haven't received mine yet, sent it in around the same time too... time to call them up.
 
I just checked on mine. I sent mine in late October. They received it middle of November. When I went to the website today to check the status, they have a check #, amount, and date it was sent (today). So hopefully I'll be receiving mine by sometime next week.

I had called about 3 weeks ago and asked about the status. They said it was pending and even though I asked if it could be expedited, they said they couldn't do anything about it.

Assuming I do get the rebate, I think I'm done with Biostar rebates. A good 16 weeks even assuming I get it this week or next.

4 weeks. Excellent. Along with the Federal, which I received in 2 weeks, I won't hesitate to buy TaxCut 2004 next year.
 
Wish me luck. I just mailed my McAfee $20 upgrade rebate from the Staples Pres day sale. The rebate form was stupidly small like they are trying to find a way to refuse your rebate. I blew it up 250% on a good copier and then filled in the info and provided it with the rest of the stuff. Just in case I also completed the original form using a .5 mechanical pencil. I was actually able to complete most of it but they would need a magnifying glass to actually read it. 😀

I didn't find out about this PDF version until after I had mailed mine.

 
I've gotten the runaround from wheresmyrebate.com as well. They denied my rebate, claiming the receipt was not submitted along with the rebate form and UPC. This is a physical impossibility since CompUSA puts the receit AND rebate form on the register printout! Three attempts to call them met with three disconnects after lengthy periods on hold. Emailing 'customerservice@wheresmyrebate.com' bounced.

My next recourse will be to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau against the product manufacturer. The manufacturer is more sensitive to the ill will so, if enough people file, they will put pressure on wheresmyrebate.com.

MaxMyRebates.com -- processor for Officemax that look suspiciously like RebatesHQ.com -- denied my Ridata CD-R 100pk rebate because the UPC was wrong. There were two identical UPCs...one on each of the clear discs at the end of the pack. The rest of the packaging was a plastic wrap with no UPC. Time to start the complaint machine with the BBB, FTC, and A/G. I'll give O/M a chance to reimburse me, too, before I drag them into it.

Why not just give them a call and see if it can be fixed that way before working yourself into a lather with 4 other agencies?

My Biostar rebate finally came yesterday.
Purchased the mobo on 10/20/03
Sent out the rebate on 10/29/03
Received 2/23/04

A good 16 weeks for this one. I think I'm gonna steer clear of Biostar in the future. Good mobo, bad rebates.

Looks like a lot of people are getting rejected on OMax Ridata CD-R 100 pack $20 rebate.
Check your status here Link
If problems try calling 1-866-703-0534, stay on the line and don't push any buttons, after a minute someone will come on. Tell them it's an OfficeMax rebate and transfer you to right dept. Recite your UPC code for them and they will aprove it (UPC is 8-46122-00025-8)

Got a rejection postcard from OfficeMax for the 100 pack slim cd cases for 8 bucks. The reason they gave me Invalid postmark. I submitted both this and the Free after rebate modem which had the same postmark day stipulation. Oddly enough, I received my rebate check for the modem and rejection card for the cd cases on the same day last week.

They are claiming that it was postmarked on 2-8, which would have mean't that Office Max received my other rebate, processed it and returned it back to me in a 2 week turn around time.
 
Received Staples Rebate on Pacific Digital 8X DVD burner 2/24/04. Sent in just a few weeks ago. Fast.

Equally fast and surprising; Circuit City Rebate for $20 on ATI Radeon 9600XT came in 2/25/04 and I sent it out 1/28/04.

If only they would all come so promptly (like the FUJI-san rebate from 9 weeks and counting).
 
Good article on Rebate fraud/Tips, etc:

The only tip I would take issue with is "Use certified mail." At least one rebate house has said that they won't accept certified mail and others have said that it slows the process dramatically (I'm not sure how some of them could get any slower than they already are.)
