i went to a club 2 weekends ago for a 30th bday party. and it reminded me why i don't like clubs anymore.
- we left at 11pm, took 45 mins to drive to the city cause of traffic and stupid light patterns. then took an additional 40 or so minutes to park.
- got to the club and we were on "the list" because the party paid for a table. had to wait in the "vip" line for a few minutes, then got our wristband. was absolutely no reason for us to wait in a line, and i hate how people think vip is special.
- got inside and it was butt crowded, shoulder to shoulder. the "table" we had (i didn't pay for the husband of the bday girl did) you had to buy 2 bottles of liquor to have. bottle of vodka was $170, the champaigne was like $200.
- table area was stacked on top of another table, again, being crowded as shit.
- took like 10 minutes to get a drink at the bar because of the crowd and few bartenders.
- was there for 2 hours and got my bill and it was $140
it was a really fun time, but i'd just rather do other stuff with my time/money than that. even the birthday girl was like 'yeah last time i do that'. it used to be fun when younger to feel "special" from the vip, and having a table, and all that shit, but i've grown out of all that.
EDIT:
that said, whenever i go on vacation i love going to clubs or just going out in general. like if it's a week long vacation like 2-3 nights i wanna go to a club/lounge area. i think the funnest clubs i've been to are in cancun. its like $30 to get in but it's all you can drink all night. and they are huge.
