Kanye proves, over and over, what a douchebag POS he really is........and he doesn't care if anyone knows it.

News today says that some folks think the fact that he was drinking may have led to his behavior, and that MTV might end up banning alcohol at next year's awards show. IMHO, they should just bad Kanye West. :|

While they're at it they should BAN Kanye West

LOL @ myself! Yeah, my fingers are rented........ ;)

Fail, this isn't that big of a deal, Spike Jonez did the EXACT same thing and I said it wasn't a big deal then.

wth are you talking about?

some years ago at the VMA's a group won video of the year or whatever and director Spike Jonez came out on stage out of nowhere and rushed the mic. Then told the crowed this group sucks and the Beastie Boys video he directed was better. He was escorted off stage, and if I recall correctly there were applause from the crowd. I know the next day nobody was saying "fuck Spike Jonez!" and many were talking about how hilarious it was.

Justifying bad behavior by pointing to other bad behavior is win.

not justifying it, just pointing it out it's happened before and nobody cared. Also the dude from I think Pearl Jam climbed up the on stage prop and totally fucked up a groups acceptance speech and nobody gave 2 fucks. There are a few other examples but I can't recall them, MTV awards are known for having WTF moments. Kanye is a dipshit, this is common knowledge and I don't think anyone should be surprised by his actions. MTV especially should know he's a loose canon and be cautious when letting him in the doors of an award show.

But when all is said and done this has become damn near front page non stop talked about news. Where without the incident nobody would be mentioning anything about Taylor or "what happened on MTV last night!" So I'd imagine MTV is thrilled he's an asshat who can't keep his mouth shut. It's good for ratings.

Nobody cared because Spike Jones is a nobody and he's not known for being an asstard like Kanye.

This does not sound like an accurate retelling of the story. IIRC, one of the Beastie Boys, incognito, rushed the stage and yelled that Jonez should have won, but the whole thing was a gag and was treated as such. The video Jonez directed for the BB was "Sabotage" so draw your own conclusions about whether it was a joke.

Kanye took the mic from a 19yr old first time award winner, and not joking at all, expressed his opinion that she didn't deserve to win. Add this to the several times he's done the same inappropriate thing in past award shows, and he further cements his reputation as a dick.

It was Jonez with a weird hat and mustache, I believe he called himself Nathanal Hornblower. It was not scripted by MTV and nobody had any idea he was going to do it, the band who was giving their acceptance speech has zero clue what the fuck was going on. Do you call it a gag because he had on a funny costume? The bottom line, both times artists were disrespect on stage while winning an award. I don't see how either are any different. Yes Kanye has done this before, but that doesn't make what Spike did any less offensive. Same fucking thing, both are wrong, and it's not a big deal in either case.

Then it's pretty clear you have some analytical difficulties. It's not a big deal.

"Not a big deal" - if they had any balls, they'd ban him from future events. But, $$$ gets in the way of any vision of doing the right thing. Kind of ironic, considering the film of the same name that Spike directed.

Kanye has done and said some stupid things in the past, but dude just went to whole another level of lowlife with this stunt.

Definitely should be banned next year. Plus, if they don't do something, people are going to think it's okay to just jump on stage whenever they don't agree with outcome of the awards.

No excuse for Kayne's behavior; if he disagreed with the award decisions he should either keep it to himself or comment after the ceremony. Rushing the stage and elbowing off the winner just to state a personal opinion is inexcusable....he was neither a winner who could take advantage of a soapbox nor did he have any reason to believe that the vote was rigged or anything.

Either Kayne should put on his best behavior or heckle decisions in front of his TV.

Pretty good apology on Leno, I don't watch tv, but it happened to be on, I think Leno asked what a lot of posters here would have asked and it seems he really understood what he did was totally fucked up.

huh? that's exactly what I'm not trying to do. MTV has 2 similar incidents at their awards show, where 2 people were caught off guard by somebody else rushing the stage to proclaim that person didn't deserve to win. There is absolutely no difference between either incident. Kanye is black, Spike Jonez is white, the both made a totally asshat move and dicked somebody out of their moment in the spotlight. How am I making this a race thing when I'm saying both a white and a black dude are equally shitty? you're a troll. And to the idiots on here who say "well Kanye did it before, so he's worse!" do you think the group Spike shat on saying they shouldn't have won felt any better because he had never done that before? They didn't fucking care, their moment was ruined by an asshat.

Yeah I saw that too. He really does sound kind of stupid.

Leno made him cry when he asked Kenye what his mother would think if she saw what he did.

I have lost all respect for Jay Leno. How many times does this idiot (Kayne) have to say something stupid before people will stop shoving a mic in front of his face. I understand why Leno did it, he is launching a new show and wanted the ratings but I don't care.

A quote from a story on the interview "West said he knew he was wrong the moment he handed the microphone back to Swift, when he was bathed in boos." Sorry, no. It wouldn't have mattered if the crowd had cheered. It was still wrong. Crowd reaction was irrelevant. The guy still doesn't get it.

I watched the interview, and I'm pretty sure he said that he knew he was wrong when he handed the microphone back to her and she didn't continue her acceptance speech.

Yeah, that was pretty damn awkward, actually. My wife and I had to avert our eyes.
