You can't really argue that more people have now heard of her than before. Nobody watches these shows, and she probably would've otherwise gotten a one paragraph blurb in the paper at best. Now it's everywhere, and it's not inconceivable that some people might pick up the CD that wouldn't have otherwise.

while its possible that she will get a few more sales (its not going to go up. its been out a very long time). its not like Swift was hurting. She has been on the top 10 for 43 weeks. She is played on EVERY station i have seen (well not rap i guess). so im willing to bet that those that listen to her type of music and would buy it already have it.

quebert is a black apologist and always has been and his post just proved it. At first h e as saying how she is stuck at #9 and with this she may hit #2. so Kenya helped her carrer. when pointed out she has been #1 and after nearly a year she slid to #9 he comes up with something diffrent.

Fixed that for you waggy

Apology #2:

I feel like Ben Stiller in "Meet the Parents" when he messed up everything and Robert De Niro asked him to leave... That was Taylor's moment and I had no right in any way to take it from her. I am truly sorry.

Fail, this isn't that big of a deal, Spike Jonez did the EXACT same thing and I said it wasn't a big deal then. Are people mad she was interrupted, or are they mad a black person did it? Where was the outrage when Spike Jonez did it? Hummm, there was none. And it was the same thing. The issue here to me is Kanye is a douche, I have said that. I haven't stood up for him, I simply said what he did is being blown way out of proportions, especially when it's not even the 2nd time this has happened at an MTV awards show.

Look you black douchebag why don't you try putting yourself in her parents place when their teenage daughter is enjoying her big moment in the spotlight and this look-at-me douche decides to ruin for her. How would you feel. Alot of people in this world are parents and they would not want to see their daughters treated like that by anyone.

This has nothing to do with race. The only people bringing up race are racists themselves. This is about a spoiled, juvenile asshole who needs a boot to the teeth. He's constantly pulling this crap, he's out of control, and someone needs to bend him over their knee and spank his ass. It doesn't matter whether he's black or white.

I don't understand this whole "or are they mad a black person did it" bullshit. When did race come into this at all? Jesus christ, shut the hell up QueBert. Kanye has a record of throwing huge temper tantrums and he's jumped up on stage unwelcomed and stolen the show from TWO people now. I can't wait for him to get into the stereotypical rapper-shoot-out-at-dance-club and be done with it.

some years ago at the VMA's a group won video of the year or whatever and director Spike Jonez came out on stage out of nowhere and rushed the mic. Then told the crowed this group sucks and the Beastie Boys video he directed was better. He was escorted off stage, and if I recall correctly there were applause from the crowd. I know the next day nobody was saying "fuck Spike Jonez!" and many were talking about how hilarious it was.

This does not sound like an accurate retelling of the story. IIRC, one of the Beastie Boys, incognito, rushed the stage and yelled that Jonez should have won, but the whole thing was a gag and was treated as such. The video Jonez directed for the BB was "Sabotage" so draw your own conclusions about whether it was a joke.

Kanye took the mic from a 19yr old first time award winner, and not joking at all, expressed his opinion that she didn't deserve to win. Add this to the several times he's done the same inappropriate thing in past award shows, and he further cements his reputation as a dick.

It was Jonez with a weird hat and mustache, I believe he called himself Nathanal Hornblower. It was not scripted by MTV and nobody had any idea he was going to do it, the band who was giving their acceptance speech has zero clue what the fuck was going on. Do you call it a gag because he had on a funny costume? The bottom line, both times artists were disrespect on stage while winning an award. I don't see how either are any different. Yes Kanye has done this before, but that doesn't make what Spike did any less offensive. Same fucking thing, both are wrong, and it's not a big deal in either case.

Taylor is one of the most sweetest little gals. She truly represents what is right with music. I don't even like country music, but she is a cool classy young woman. As for Kanye, he should be barred next year. It was lame and truly ignorant. Kanye has done and said some stupid things in the past, but dude just went to whole another level of lowlife with this stunt.

Justifying bad behavior by pointing to other bad behavior is win.

not justifying it, just pointing it out it's happened before and nobody cared. Also the dude from I think Pearl Jam climbed up the on stage prop and totally fucked up a groups acceptance speech and nobody gave 2 fucks. There are a few other examples but I can't recall them, MTV awards are known for having WTF moments. Kanye is a dipshit, this is common knowledge and I don't think anyone should be surprised by his actions. MTV especially should know he's a loose canon and be cautious when letting him in the doors of an award show.

But when all is said and done this has become damn near front page non stop talked about news. Where without the incident nobody would be mentioning anything about Taylor or "what happened on MTV last night!" So I'd imagine MTV is thrilled he's an asshat who can't keep his mouth shut. It's good for ratings.

Kanye proves, over and over, what a douchebag POS he really is........and he doesn't care if anyone knows it.

News today says that some folks think the fact that he was drinking may have led to his behavior, and that MTV might end up banning alcohol at next year's awards show. IMHO, they should just baN Kanye West. :|

(and thanks to gorcorps for showing me my spelling error! )
