A year ago I brushed off the idea that the U.S. is heading for another civil war. Now it seems inevitable. We have a fascist traitor in the White House installed through minority rule and fascist traitors in the Senate violating their oaths of office on a daily basis. The DOJ is completely subjugated to fascist rule. All these Republican fascists are actively engaged in efforts to corrupt our elections (beyond the "normal" corruption blessed by the fascist Roberts Court). We are at the point that a vote for any Republican is a vote for civil war.
 
Point is, the next time Democrats manage to hold the white house, house and senate, they need to ram as many liberals into office as they can for near lifetime appointments and drain state resources whenever states take them to court. Obama was way too kind for these people.

Brings back on the evangelicals for the next SCOTUS pick. If liberals make a big scene of it like last time, it will hurt them 10 fold.

You mean when the Dems objected to the Republicans refusing to provide subpoenaed documents concerning Kavanaugh's involvement in war crimes directed by the Bush administration? It really was a big deal. I understand that a fascist bootlicker such as yourself would pee on yourself to defend a fellow traveler.
 
I think Mitch could have trouble rounding up the votes, at least till the lame duck.

Usual wisdom is the unexpected events helps Trump when that often seems not to be the case. He’s already got the white evangelicals who want this in his pocket. There is the potential that this supercharges already elevated D turnout.

He already has those votes. I’ve yet to see a convincing argument this helps him close the gap.
 
Romney has claimed he won't. Whether he won't is another issue altogether. It's hard to be pissed off at the Turtle right now or anyone. Sadness that RBG died, sad that 200K+ people have died due to COVID, sad that I've lost distant family to it. Life is a mess in 2020.

Pandemics are a recurring event, normal, moreso considering the way these novel viruses are being coaxed out of the wilds by human activity. Climate change for the weather events. And, no offense, US politics are dangerously toxic, and things look to be genuinely going sideways in the US tbh. One of the major political parties is a conspiracy theory driven cult, led by a raving madman.

Nothing biblical, it's all people being idiotic.

To be fair, given the odds of this election turning into a giant clusterfuck, it's not like that's a bad argument.

Maybe an alternative could be one of the Justices agreeing to abstain on matters pertaining to the election. Roberts, being the closest thing to a moderate, would seem like the obvious choice.
