I haven't seen it mentioned...or clarified...was this video available PRIOR to the NFL / Police involvement?

Yes.

If the answer is yes, than this is pretty bad for the NFL to only take this sort of action until after it became public...

No shit.

If the answer is no, then how in the holy hell can TMZ get a hold of this video yet the law and NFL 'have apparently' never seen it?

(See above.)

Either way this looks bad obviously for Rice who is a scum bag...as well as the NFL for blowing off how this would look to the public.

Yes. But look at this thread - it's filled with pieces of shit who think that it's OK for a dude who is 5'8", 220 pounds, and less than 10% body fat to hit a woman, as long as she hit him first.

My mom used to say that when a woman hits you, she's no longer acting like a lady and is fair game to be hit back. Doesn't matter if you are 100 lbs or 500 lbs, if a woman hits someone, then its fair game to hit her back. She hit him twice, was going after him again, and he knocks her down. Guess she won't be hitting him again? Of course, we don't know if he hit her first. Being spit on is pretty bad, but its definitely not being hit.

She was just telling Ray that she wanted equal rights and he gave her a left.

If true...WOW...way to drop the ball on doing the right thing and making an example of Ray Rice...any common sense individual would have thought that if they had it they would have used that as a consideration on punishment to avoid this type of outrage...

I can't see the video, but it sounds like there was a heated argument, and she slapped him, he slapped her, she then came at him as if she was attacking him, and he jawed her once. I will have to watch it when I get home.

It should be noted, this video was available to police, who deemed it tame enough of an incident to give him the first time offender treatment.
I'd think that had more to do with his fiancee not pressing charges.

No excuse, a real man does not need to land a full left hook on a woman and knock her out like Mike tyson did to Marvis Frazier. You step away and let the situation defuse. You don't go all Ape. You should be able to control your urges, you are not a baby still shitting in your diapers.

And, in the next post about him, he will be 230! Continue to add weight to him, please. He is 5'8 199. Nobody is defending that he should have used as much force as she did. Some of us (likely, just me) are aware that if anyone attacks you, you can defend yourself. And, it looks like that was this case. He didn't just hit her out of nowhere, he didn't continue to beat her. He hit her once, and it was likely a reactionary motion or a reflex.

NFL and Ravens say they didn't see it until today. Peter King and an ESPN report from a couple months ago would seem to contradict that.

Bullshit excuse, NFL could have required the full video disclosure as part of the process.

Ray Rice attorneys had the videos.

His last contract was heavily front loaded. He made 25 million in the last two years. He is set for life even if he never plays another down, BUT he will! They Ravens are the real losers as they lost a dominating player and they will be on the hook for roughly 10 million over the next to years in cap hits.

Wikipedia says 218.

Where is your source that he's 199lb? Wikipedia has him listed at 5'8" 218lbs.

She only got knocked out because she hit her head on the railing. He did not punch her hard enough to knock her out.

The Raven's having the cap hit for Rice pails in comparison for the awfulness of their Flacco contract.

I drafted Ray Rice on my bench. Should i change my team name to Ray Ryson's Punch-Out? for us old school Nintendo fans 😛

I see this shit all over the news. Why the fuck do so many people even care?

It's not like pro football players are ever really held up to even normal standards of society...let alone higher standards. 😕

I'm really not sure how the NFL will handle this. The public seems to care much more about a man brutally hitting a woman than multiple DUI manslaughters, the sanctioned fighting and killing of numerous dogs, or the stabbing death of a man. I initially thought they'd roll it back to the 6 game policy, but I could see the outcry pushing them to change their policy - permanent ban.

I don't believe Aaron Hernandez is on indefinite suspension.

Lets face it, if a pig would have hit this chick he would have been promoted.
