Some of the statements in this thread are despicable. I don't care a person's politics or position. If they are not directly and immediately endangering others, that kind of violence is horrific regardless of the target.

We live in a country where on any given day a person can be threatened with a weapon for driving bad, wearing the wrong colored clothing, or supporting the wrong sports team. No need to jump to conclusions on political affiliation when we have so many other petty reasons for dispute.
 
I gotta love how every lefty in the forum is struggling to downplay this. As if Senator Rand wasn't seriously injured by a violent physical assault due to the actions of a neighbor. They don't like his politics so they attempt to justify the violence done against him.
I'm sure the guy that attempted the assassination of the Republican Congressional baseball team was just angry at the noise they were making and it had nothing to do with politics.

I just want to make sure I'm doing it right and I view you as the deflection expert, so I'm looking for your guidance.

Do we? No doubt these things happen, but is our fear of them justified relative to their frequency? And is the frequency of non-domestic violence increasing over time? I think society is becoming more paranoid, for sure. It's sad. Anticipating these motives in others seems to inflame things.

I do like when we immediately attribute the violence to the "leftist thugs". How quickly we ignore the real violent sociapth right wing nutjobs who kill abortion doctors, blow up federal buildings, or shoot a slew of people in a church. But "serious injuries"...

But really I do hope this guy gets thrown in jail for assault plus whatever is due for attacking a public official. Fucking unhinged doctor? Something about doing no harm comes to mind. Unless Paul killed the guy's dog, this is nuts. If Paul killed his dog, then fuck that guy and he is lucky the lawn mower wasn't used.

I thought he didn't go to a doctor for treatment? If so, who assessed the broken ribs and injured lung? Definitely not a self diagnosis from an ophthalmologist.
 
Well at least this Boucher guy is white and rich--only charged with a misdemeanor "fourth degree assault" (ever hear of anything lower than 3rd degree??) and he's out on $7,500 bail.

Probably because he'd be too embarrassed to come over to your house to tell you he is a sex offender.

That's my guess anyway. He seems like the type to be one domestic abuse charge away from committing a mass shooting.
