Racist Wi-Fi names are considered a hate crime.

This idea, it is good. Using MAC filtering be a pain for some people, but I only have two wifi devices that use my network regularly.

You might as well just use wep encryption. That's easier for you do to deal with, and just as secure(read not secure at all).

Even though it's "not a big deal" it's empowering racists. I know most of you bigots love nothing more than to hear about these articles so you can use it as an excuse to do the very thing people are complaining about.

If you're going to do it, use it for something useful like...

"The guy next door is a pedophile."

or.

"Your daughter has nice boobs"

LOL

I guess I better change my Wi-Fi name soon. It could probably be considered racist or something.

People are retarded. 🙄

SSID's are broadcast and should not be profane or racist.

The only reason people would make them such is for others to see anyway.

i usually make mine look like some government agency and i see others do it too. its cute. or maybe im being watched but either way its fun

That is retarded. They are going to waste all that time and resources "investigating" the problem. It's a rec center. They probably hooked up a linksys router and left it with the defualt ssid and admin password. Next thing you know someone logs in and changes it. I mean seriously, they don't honestly think it was someone who works there who decided to name it that knowing how many people would notice it do they?

That SSID could be open to interpretation, maybe it was advertising for a brothel?

Before we moved into our house there was a network named Apt1605WeHearUHavingSex, got a chuckle out of that.
