It's funny how all the kiddies on this forum simply follow the bandwagon. A year or two ago everyone agreed how awesome Dane Cook was, and now it's "common knowledge" that he sucks. In reality this forum is just a bunch of kids who follow the bandwagon.

You're just jumping on the bandwagon that fusses at people for jumping on the bandwagon.

Why are the students voting for valedictorian? Is this a Cannuckistan thing? Here in the US, the valedictorian is the person with the highest GPA in the class. I find it hard to believe that 10 people had the exact same GPA.

It is common in most high schools in the area to vote for the valedictorian. It becomes a popularity contest.

If I remember right (it was 30 years ago for me), when I graduated from HS we were given a choice of two or three to pick from, each of whom had a very high GPA and had been involved in many extra-curricular activities.

Huh. Never knew that. Seems kind of silly to me. Sure, vote for the prom queen, homecoming court, most likely to succeed, etc. But, to vote for the Valedictorian seems like it diminishes it somewhat.

Is there another name for the person with the highest GPA in his/her class?

The Dane Cook bashers will come out at any opportune time. I love it.

yep. Because as I watched that, I immediately thought of Dane Cook... although it's a little bit different and less raunchy, then again... it is a speech at a high school.

But I loved it. But I have a wide and varying sense of humor, and find everything from squirrels, to Dane Cook, to Robin Williams and George Carlin, to all be hilarious. Yes, there are more people in the mix, just stating some of my favorites. And that includes squirrels. 😛

I'm an easy to please person when it comes to comedy, except for most of the crap that is comedy in theaters.

With that said, yes... I loved that speech. His Canadian accent only furthered the comedic appeal. Aboat...oat... 😀 you Canadians make me smile. 😛

that was a Nazi salute. I cracked up when he did that, it was the perfect moment if there is such a thing to throw in a Nazi salute.
But then again, me and my friends have done that for shits on more than one occasion.

I don't expect any less from a stuck up/prude CRD of Victoria. He is lucky that he isn't going to Oak Bay High School, because the ruckus would be worst.

There's a reason I don't live in Sooke, it's a shithole. Saanich FTW!
Maybe Oak Bay would suit you better.

Exactly, he sounds exactly like Dane Cook. And as for thinking he was funny a couple years ago, and not so much now, it's because HE WAS FUNNY A FEW YEARS AGO, AND NOT SO MUCH NOW. His first comedy special was actually good, believe it or not. What can I say, some people just go a few years and they're out of shit.

I've actually enjoyed everything I've heard from him, but will generally agree his earlier material was his better work... but to me, it's not a night and day difference. Generally, his better work is the stage versions of his CDs, because you get to see his crazy ass antics and how he performs the roles he's mocking. He really is a capable actor if given good material. I liked Employee of the Month. 😱 No, it wasn't the best comedy I've ever seen. But it was enjoyable.

I watched the whole thing and was still waiting for the overly offensive stuff, of which there was none IMO.

At least it was funny and memorable. How many of you actually remember what your valedictorian said during your high school graduation? I sure as hell don't. At least the students will remember this speech.

And I also wanted to see this fine teacher's rack he was talking about.

I don't find it all that offensive, but I also found it unpolished.

And not terribly funny. However, if I was still 16 I'd probably have found it clever.

You should see Good Luck Chuck. And by "see", I mean watch all the sex scenes on youporn. If nothing else I give him credit for getting that part.

thought it was unfunny to the core, to each his own. if anything, I get a feeling he didnt have any malicious intent to ridicule anyone.

skipping graduation FTW 😛 I saw what was coming down the pipe so decided to use that time on getting some quality sleep.
