A culture may be made up of a majority of one race or another, but NO culture is race specific or inherent.

Many cultures are self destructive and harmful to the very people who live within them. Criticizing that culture is NOT making comments on their race or any inherent traits, but how to better themselves.

By your logic, I must accept and embrace radical Islam and terrorism because, after all, to criticize their culture is "racism," right?

Let's start with some examples and mythical "blue" people, shall we?

Example of culture criticism:

Many in the blue community excuse criminality and bring harm to their communities while blaming their problems not on themselves and other blues, but on whites and the rest of society. They become enablers for the very people who are tearing their communities, and families apart.

Example of racism:

Blue people are unable to control themselves and therefore commit more crimes.

The difference is OBVIOUS. The first is critical of actions and maintains the premise that said actions can be corrected.

The second is makes claims of inherent inferiority and is blatantly racist.

I suggest you learn to tell the difference. Because by your standards, Bill Cosby and Chris Rock are racist against blacks for criticizing popular black culture.

To any black people who go to these boards - I don't know if this will make you feel any better - But I apologize for the behaviour of some of my.... less-than impressive brethren.

These boards are racist, and I can understand totally where you are coming from. Almost every thread about anything black is flamed at least once and if you say anything about it you are either A) Wimpy white liberal apologist or B) Black reactionary, what happened to plain, old good-fashioned American equality and 60's idealism? What you have to understand is - and it is something vital - that these boards are a collection of mostly nerdy white and asian dudes. Many have not had sex. They are seeing more black actors, black music stars and just black people in general attaining higher ranks in society. They are also having a lot of their women taken This is what it comes down to: to them blacks are a threat. I would brush their comments off and continue on with your life. They are really not worth the time of day.

I will admit there is some merit to the criticism of Gangsta culture, but I have to say isn't that culture uniquely American? Before Biggie and Tupac we had the Italian mafia and before that Billy the Kidd. We have always idolized the outlaw/rebel. As for the rock/rap issue; saying rock music isn't as offensive as rap is ludicrous. A large amount rock music is so grotesque I am unwilling to even post it here or anywhere. Just listen to some Cradle of Filth. I'm ashamed anyone of any race listens to that FILTH. Even rock I personally like such as Tool or NIN has some very, very offensive material. Songs such as Stinkfist, Prison Sex etc.
