ok looks to be 450 watts; someone was saying 450 volts......that's more than enough for the R7 250....the 250X need external power plug; the 250 doesn't......honestly I'd go with the 250

WHATS AN External plug?
and whats the difference between 250 and 250X?

BTW i contacted the vendor ,he said its written that thePSU supplies 450 watts, but actually it doesnt,it supplies around 300-350.Also its 3 years old.
So what to do?
IS it really neccesary to buy a new PSU.
i really cant extend my budget

It's fine. Seriously, don't worry about it. And good choice on the video card, you'll enjoy it.

yeah you only need to worry about power supply if you are getting into gtx 770/780 or 280x/290 range :p (or running 4.5ghz OC'd quad core in addition)

That's an old "350W" PSU that I would treat as a 250W PSU (because 12V * 18A = 216W, which will be the limiting factor in a modern PC).

Still, should be enough for those graphics cards, albeit barely.

Yea, psu should be enough for the 250, but barely. The 12 volt output as piroko said is only 216 watts, which is very low for a psu rated at 450 watts. I had a cheap OEM box with a psu rated at 300 watts whichput out 240 watts on the 12 volt rail.

You don't need a new PSU. R5 250 is a 65W part. Probably lower. If you don't OC your CPU you should be allright.

like everybody is saying, you dont need new power supply. Look at power consumption numbers. Those are in watts, that's the max total ur system will consume with that video card. Nowhere near 200w even.

So will the R7 250 run smoothly without struggling for power with that cheap iball PSU that I currently have.(I really don't know how much power does it supply?)

So should I buy a corsair 550watt PSU or stick to the iball psu?

Stick to your power supply.

If you have the MONEY to buy a power supply too, you can consider spending more on your video card.

The Geforce GTX 750 and 750TI are two cards that are faster than the R7-250 but will also still work well with your existing power supply! :D

First you wanted to buy 450w corsair, we said ur crappy "iball" can handle your system just fine. Now 550w? where are you getting these ideas? :p

There is a chance that something can go wrong with your PSU, most likely your system will be instable or the PSU itself will simply die.
However, as you might have noticed, most of us think that this risk is very low and your PSU will be fine for now. If money is not an issue then go ahead and also buy a new PSU, -
I'd say a branded one (like Corsair) with ~450W will be plenty fine. Installation is simple, four screws to the back of the case, two connectors on the mainboard (very apparent which ones), every drive (HDD, SSD, DVD-Rom) gets one connector and case fans that are not connected to the mainboard will get one. Larger graphics cards also get one or two (your options do not). All connectors only fit their counterparts, no chance of destroying something here. If in doubt, take notes/pictures of your current connections. -

If money is an issue, try it out as is and just keep the PSU in mind for your next upgrade.
