I hate saying RIP, especially with Biggie and Tupac because they are the most dickroden rap artists ever and even retards who dont know what real hip hop is will say "RIP Biggie".
If you say RIP to Biggie, why dont you say RIP to every other person that died this day, the next day, etc.
As for some rappers that are >> Biggie :
Nas
Rakim
Canibus
Common
GZA
Kool G Rap
Killah Priest
Ras Kass
Pharoahe Monche
Masta Ace
Black Thought
Mos Def
Talib Kweli
putting the biggest words in your rhymes doesnt = being the best rapper.
case in point.....canibus....incredibly talented lyrically but his flow...is a no go.
I know that putting huge ass words in your rhymes doesnt make you the better rapper (Nas > Canibus), but the way he just thinks, the way he puts together the rhymes, very very few can rhyme like that. I think as long as the words make sense, then its alright. There are lines where he doesn't use big lines, and those still outshine most artists.
"I'm sharper than scissor tips, sharper than rings on RZA's fist, its ridiculous"
"A hundred times nicer than the best there is Twice as african as krs is, who wanna test this"
Who else can think of lines like this?
"Getting in my way is like jumping in front of a car / breaking the sound barrier ? that means the car's in front of the horn / by the time you hear it blowing, it's too late to respond / by the time you feel it hit you, I'm gone"
"Try to visualize what Harry Houdini was feeling / handcuffed underwater without breathing / near death on a fatal quest for air / but why should anybody care? He put himself there / his career was based on facing his fears / to take destiny from the hand of the man upstairs / he didn't mind the cold stares he got from his peers / they couldn't tell him where he was going or how to get there / it's better to be prepared and fail than to be scared / and unsure of yourself and still get killed". "
"I?m above average with verbal semantics/ the Aurora Borealis in the form of a rap ballad/ they look at me like, ?poor bastard,/ why can?t you manipulate Billboard with all your metaphor magic"
The thing about lyricists is, you have to look deep into their lyrics and analyze their lines, and each time you listen to one of their songs, you will understand something you didnt know, maybe because you didnt know what a specific word meant, or that you just couldn't see "behind" the line. This is why I like lyricists as opposed to "non-lyricists".
