This person was a retard... yes you have the freedom to say whatever you want, up to and including... "Hello I am a gigantic penis-headed moron". That doesnt make it good free speech. Perhaps we should go burn a giant effigy of Jesus in Times Square? That'll learn ya christians....

Just stupid as all hell.

I'll go a step further... the hate against the Islamic religion going on is RIGHT inline with what happened in Nazi germany... The unbelievably bigoted idea that all people who follow Islam subscribe to the radical beliefs of the few? The idea that there aren't Christians Jews Hindus Shintos etc who are equally stupid? Unforgivable and unacceptable.

There's a very specific event on a very specific day that singles a very specific group out from the rest.

Burn Christian symbols, you wouldn't be the first and I assure you the Left here won't demonize you for it. Hell they'll probably come out and celebrate. Me? I'd think you're wasting your damn time, but I won't demonize you either. No one cares if you crap on the oft crapped on religions.

They won't threaten to kill you for it either. If one of them does, the others will arrest them for it.

So what is "good free speech" in your mind?

This was the act of a Patriot. One who stands up for our natural rights.

Clue for you, burning jesus wouldn't cause threats of murder across the world. Patriots, UNITE.

It boggles the mind why Islam alone is a sacred cow.

An overreaction to September 11th? No... it was sacred long before then. This dates back to Israel.

Burning a Quran doesn't make you a patriot... there are PLENTY of patriotic Americans who hold that Quran as their holy book, and the foundation of their religion.

Burning a Quran makes you a bigoted retard... attacking an entire religion of people based on the actions of a few... if we held all of Christianity responsible for the murders and terrors committed by some, there would be no Christians and there would be a million burning Jesuses in the name of patriotism.

To call this man a patriot is to spit in the face of everything that makes America what it is, it's to take our great country and drag it through the same mud as Nazi Germany. It's stupidity beyond stupidity... and I quite frankly would stand in arms against this man to defend our country if necessary.

Islam isn't a sacred cow... there are plenty of stupid morons who attack Judaism and Christianity on a regular basis... but we don't call them patriots...

I'm a Jew you fucking idiot.

And Islam or not Islam has nothing to do with it... what is the message this "free speech" sends? That we shall not stand for Islam? That we won't allow it in our country? That we will fight against Islam and Muslims...

The hell we will... we are the land of the free... we allow people to worship as they choose... whether that be to Satan, Jesus or Allah... and YES I will fight to defend that principal... If you see that as "in the name of Islam"... then you're free to be a complete fucktard... have at it...

If Muslims were dying you might have a point. They're not. Your antics here are towards peaceful opposition. Can people do that? You better believe they can.

Peaceful opposition to what exactly? The practice of Islam? What is the purpose of opposing the practice of Islam? What do they hope to achieve?

I oppose violence against Americans here as a response to burning of the Quran.

I couldn't help but notice the use of the word "here". I take that to mean you do not oppose violence against Americans elsewhere as a response to an American exercising his rights in America. Please correct me if I am wrong but if I am right your entire argument for "fairness" goes out the window. You can't possibly believe in being "fair" yet not oppose punishing people for an act that they had nothing to do with and is in fact one of the reasons they can "fairly" practice their religion here. Again, the bad comes with the good, deal with it.
As for the military issue - how people react to an 'occupying foreign military force' is another matter.

I don't think you would stand up against someone being violent to an Afghan army who was occupying the US you did not want here.

No I wouldn't, quite the opposite actually, I would grab my gun and help them "be violent to ANY foreign army that was occupying the US". However, that is a separate issue from burning a book and you know it. Try again.

I don't support violence there, either, over this - but it's understandable why it's a danger.

Freedom ain't free. If they decide to be violent because of our freedoms then they should be prosecuted with extreme prejudice. Like I said, fuck em if they can't take a joke.

I'd like to see you go to the parking lot of a mega church in Texas as people exit, and start burning a pile of bibles and flags, and see how your 'non-violence' is respected.

So that makes it somehow "right"? I would like to see you walk into the Iberville projects at night and see how your 'non-violence' is respected. You won't have to burn a damned thing. My opinion is that violence, especially acts of terrorism/murder, in response to someone excersicing their rights is wrong. Period. Full stop.

But we aren't talking about this asshole getting his ass kicked are we? We are talking about completely uninvolved people being threatened and potentially harmed.

And that's right in the US with 'free speech', not a war zone with foreigners without it.

And?

Only reason these people feel that they can do this and NOT be looked at as the ignorant bigots they are is due to the amount of people who seem to agree with them. It's mob mentality. Many Christians in this country seem to think that laws should be based off there religion, so why should it be a surprise that Muslims would want that also. Thankfully we have laws that protect our rights so that these religions can't take rights away from those who don't believe as they do.

You would stand in arms to deprive an American citizen his rights yet you claim HE is dragging us to the Nazi side?

Yup, those rights include being able to burn a book that you own. If it happens to piss other people off, much like being a different religion does to some, then fuck em.

Must suck for all the Muslim people in the military defending your ass.
I drink to your courage while I light my cigar with your Holy book.

Must suck for the Catholics defending my ass too because I am much harsher on them and their mumbo jumbo.

Must really suck for soldiers to be draped by the flag when they die defending the rights of their fellow countrymen, including the right to burn the same flag that their coffin is covered with.

Still doesn't change anything.

So, you support the "mosque" being built at "ground zero?"

I don't have a problem with this. One guy expressing his opinion...Perfectly legal...except for perhaps violating "public burning" laws...which SHOULD be covered under the 1st Amendment, just as burning a flag is covered...

The asshat pastor in Florida? That's a totally different situation. He advertised for weeks that he was going to do it, obtained a pile of korans to burn...then (as far as we know) backed down. His only purpose was to inflame and incite.

Was this guy's intent to inflame and incite? It didn't appear so from the video. He didn't say a thing. No ranting & raving about "terrarsts," or "Mooslums," he just tore out a page, applied some fire...then tore out a page, applied fire...and I think he would have continued in just that way if the police hadn't stopped it.

No you idiot I would stand in arms to stop the policies and enforcement associated with preventing the free practice of religion in our country. Which is exactly what this moron seems to want to do by opposing the practice of Islam.

And people call him a patriot? The stupidity is breathtaking.

He's not intimidating or threatening anyone? You do realize their are Muslims in America, right?

What's wrong with burning crosses right? Just puts a little fear of God into some inner city gangsters.

I don't know, its so odd so many here just don't get it.

LOL, the Catholics were all kindsa pissed off by some "modern art" not long ago that depicted their holy folk in a not so nice way. I supported the rights of the people to make that too. As far as I know, you can burn a cross on your own property if you so desire. A few guys burning crosses in their front yards doesn't seem all that intimidating to me, its when you go on someone ELSES property that it becomes an issue. Besides, their was no implied threat behind what this guy did (unlike the KKK burning crosses on black folks property) unless you would like to argue otherwise? I argue he did it just to piss them off.

Right now I can hold a meeting in my backyard talking about how we dislike <insert group>, I can do the same on public property with a permit. Hell, we got those wacko Christians that protest soldiers funerals and that is legal.

Let me break it down in really simple terms for you:

burning your own book = not intimidation
threatening to blow shit up and murder innocent/uninvolved people = intimidation

mmmkay?
