I assume lots of walking/jogging/exercise bicycling, lots of crunches, and clean up my diet. anything else?

crunches will make it look bigger. you can't spot-lose fat.

not appreciably, there simply isn't the potential to add enough muscle there to have that effect. Bodybuilders have tiny waists despite training their abs to death.Originally posted by: ElFenix
it will make the stomach muscles bigger, so, while you wait for the fat on top of them to burn off (in whatever order mother nature intended, so you might lose back fat or butt fat or wherever else first) your stomach will look bigger
OP should be working his abs, just like all his other muscles. The 4 inches of flab sitting on top is far more of a problem than whatever fractional size he might add via muscle. If anything, working the abs will probably help him subconciously hold his stomach tighter during the day and show less of a paunch.
If you really want to lose an assload of weight, do what somebody else said and get a heavy manual labor job, go dig ditches or work at UPS. It's like doing cardio for hours a day.

Well, I've been riding our new exercise bike for 40 minutes a day for a bout a week and a half.
On Monday, I'm starting with my stretch/situp/lunges in the morning. I'll put the weight bench back together and probably add that into the routine by the end of the month.
I've got a ton of weight to lose, I figure maybe in a year I should be looking better.
You young kids stay healthy...gah, it's freakin hard to get back into shape the older and fatter you get (27, going on 50--I weigh 260 (!!!) 10 years ago at the same height I was 140).
