Work just phoned me and informed me that they moved my location. My commute just went from 15 minutes a day to 3.5 hours with absolutely no compensation or pay rise. Hooray! I guess I am lucky to have a job anyway...
 
That blows. Sorry to hear that. We've been put onto the "we suck at estimating jobs, and we're starting them with little time to finish them so you'll work overtime for free and travel to get it done when the customer expects it" mentality.
 
I will not forget how some companies are treating their employees though (such as mine).. and I am getting my resume together and starting to look.. not that the chances of finding anything else are good in my area right now, but at least I'll be prepared to run for the door once things bounce back.

OP, nice that they call you to tell you and can't even tell you face to face.
 
Not a chance in hell I'd do it. Better to starve on the streets than take 7 hours of unpaid raping a day so that some fat cat asshole above you can drive a new mercedes.

You're going to need to either move or rent a room to live in during your work week, that kind of commute isn't doable over the long term.
 
wtf they just called you just like that? You'd think they'd tell you these kind of things in advance, that's kinda a major change.
 
That's a long assed commute. Don't know why you would expect the complaint about it to be quick. Hard to imagine any employer expecting you maintain that for more than a few days.

I would have to be head over heels in love with my job to not quit.

This is the next best thing for them, if they can't fire you they can make your job so shitty that you quit.
