Question for gay men

I'll admit, I've been a bit of a homophobe growing up. I was raised in church and always thought that homosexuality was sinful, but never saw it as anything really 'damning'.

It always creeped me out when I got hit on by gay guys. But I'll admit, most gay guys come across as normal men.

However, whats up with the weird, obviously a little sick in the head, overly feminine, flamboyant attention grabbing guys like Perez that think it's neat to be associated to queens and female behavior?

As someone on the sidelines, trying not to be a bigot about it all, hoping to protect marriage as an instituation between men and women, but open to accept whatever my society votes in favor for, and more than willing to vote in favor of civil unions, I look at someone like Perez who is "flaming gay" and have no choice but think they they aren't "well". My perception of him is that he is both physically and pychologically sick, there is some clear chemical imbalance going on in his body (much like someone who is clinically depressed) and think "one day, i'm sure there will be medication that will straighten him out and get him functioning like a properly developed male" again. It's his type that make me think he is equally as sick as someone who is clinically depressed, or if not that bad, at least chemically messed up enough to affect their normal behavior.

Just for the record.. I don't hate gays. My lawyer is gay and he doesn't act like anything less than a normal man. I never even knew he was gay until someone told me. It's the weird clowns like Perez that make me wonder. Is it just an act? Like "Im gay, I need act gay because I'm special"

As someone on the sidelines, trying not to be a bigot about it all, hoping to protect the constitution of this country in ensuring life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, I look at someone like TechBoyJK who is "a close minded religious bigot trying to be coy" and have no choice but think they they aren't "well". My perception of him is that he is both physically and pychologically sick, there is some clear chemical imbalance going on in his body (much like someone who is clinically depressed) and think "one day, i'm sure there will be medication that will straighten him out and get him functioning like a properly developed human being" again. It's his type that make me think he is equally as sick as a pedophile, or if not that bad, at least chemically messed up.

you don't deserve a real answer to this question because you're not capable of understanding it nor are you worth the time.

I'm sure it's much in the same vein as straight men who act ultra-macho. Do you think they're 'as sick as pedos' too?

except acting macho is something inline with being male. I man acting like a woman is a little different.

Yea, I heard of it. But I don't really take the Bible literally.

But he's not acting like a woman, he's acting like a gay man. If you took his statements and wrote them down on paper, you wouldn't immediately assume they were made by a woman.

People like Perez Hilton annoy me as human beings, not as gay people. Difference is I won't be nice to a man acting that way because I don't want to have sex with him (whereas I might put up with similar annoyances in a woman). No hatred, we're just on different wavelengths.

Yea, i thought that was over the top so I corrected myself. I didn't think it was a fair analogy and one that should be associated to criminal behavior.

So are construction workers or tatooed bikers or professional athletes that act like uber-ridiculous-macho men "sick" or "not well" because they take their role as a heterosexual male to the extreme? Are quiet, bookish techie types "less" straight because they don't act all alpha male? Though you may have thought about this a lot, I don't think you've thought very deeply.

ed. just re-read the topic title, to clarify, I'm not gay. Because that'd be against nature.

There are gays and there are cigarette butts. Perez falls under cigarette butts.

Ah well then you may want to figure out what that whole story means to you.

As for me I am ejecting from this thread.

Perhaps. Is it just two extremes here? one group (macho) has too much testosterone and the other (weird gays) not enough? I agree that the 'norm' is my own perception and will vary from person to person.

Anyone who has read your previous comments on the subject knows that this is a shitty troll thread and that you have no intention of gaining any greater understanding of the world around you.

specifically, he's a fat ugly attention whore.

but... it's his life. it's not for me, but if queens are happy being queens, good on them. doesn't affect me any and I'd be a hypocrite to the max if I couldn't give others the same acceptance that I ask for myself.

OP, you're thinking to much. who cares? live and let live.

hoping to protect marriage as an instituation between men and women, but open to accept whatever my society votes in favor for, and more than willing to vote in favor of civil unions

Would you vote in favor of "civil unions" for ALL couples...gay and straight? Basically taking the gov't out of the equation, as far as peoples' perceptions of the term "marriage" goes?

However, whats up with the weird, obviously a little sick in the head, overly feminine, flamboyant attention grabbing guys like Perez that think it's neat to be associated to queens and female behavior?...blah blah blah effeminate gay men make me uncomfortable....
There's nothing "wrong" or "sick" with him....other than he's a media whoring drama queen celebrity-for-no-good-reason. Nothing inherently different than the other millions of them on TV. It just turns out that he's an effeminate gay man. It's just a variation in personality. Probably you just haven't been exposed to it much and that's why it makes you uncomfortable. He's just a feminine gay man who's comfortable in his skin. Like another poster mentioned, it's no more creepy than the ultra-macho straight man.
