5' 8", 17 yr old, and I bike, shoot hoops and jog. I do occasional weightlifting (very light...around 5-10 pounds for the most part) but I train for speed, not for power or bulging muscles.

Diet consists of both American food (plain bagel and roast beef, blueberry bagle and yogurt, and occasional Burger King Double Whoppers...of which I can eat two at one meal) and Chinese food (rice, noodles, mantou, tofu, meat, etc). I try to eat healthy and I can get out a lot more now that it's warmer. I'm pretty sure I've grown a bit since I measured last.

BTW: My growth spurt didn't start until I was 15, when I was a sophomore in HS.

The average american male height is 5'9" so you aren't short. And since you're only 18, there's a chance that you can grow until 20 or even 21. Just drink lots of milk and eat protein.

Being a wrestler is a bad idea if you want to be tall. Starving yourself throughout high school to always make weight leaves you at 5'7'' (on a good day) at 22 years of age.

Freaks aren't a good way to judge a race's hight. Average, average hight is the way.

i think they have surgury where they repeatidly break your legs and put in small seperations, so when you heal youre taller...

negroplasty anyone?

Does eating protien and drinking milk really matter?

I had a terrible diet throughout highschool and even up till now. I never drank milk as a kid...I am 5'9 but looking at my family I am the exact same hight as the rest of the so I assumed it was normal.

Yeah...I think I read somewhere that you stop growing (height-wise) by around age 20.

White guy here, age 24 and I'm around 5'9" I think, and I'm easily the tallest one in the family. No idea where our tallness genes went. I remember being a hall monitor when I was in 8th grade. They put me in the 5th grade hall - and I was still shorter than most people there.
I think I had an impotent growth spurt.

I think the whole Asian people are shorter stereotype is blowing way out of proportion. I am 5'11", came to Hong Kong couple weeks ago. The guys here are very tall and I see a load of people taller than me. I think the growing popularity in basketball here definitely help.

i'm currently 18 and 5'8".

You think 5'8'' is short?

Im 18 and only 5'4''. My parents are both from Pakistan, so I have the same 'Asian problem'.

I find that the ones born in North America are way taller than the immigrants.

Not the case here. My parents are immigrants, both taller than me. Im pretty sure I have stopped growing.

EDIT:
Just wondering, anybody here grown much after 18? If so, how much? Ill be 19 in August and I dont see myself growing anymore. I dont think Ive grown much in the past few years, but Ive also never had a growth spurt, its just been steady and slow growth. So, maybe I still have that spurt coming.
