you're so full of shit.

it's actually true. Go and study some banking.

Like the poster above that still believes the state should now outlaw them.

Texans are ok with killing things without restraint, but if they want to spend their money; they look to smarter people.

It's easier to just tell them to put it in a shoebox.

the best thing to do is grab the dog behind the head on their neck (scruff) and clamp on it while saying no... A dogs is trained to respect this as their parents did this to them while they were young puppies to keep order in the pack.

wait you know dogs that say "no"?!?!?

Wow, could you have been less subtle about turning this into a class issue?

lol just got back to this and it was why I came back to the thread.

In Arizona, finding a rock would be easy.

I don't live there.

I am not sure if you still live in 707, but I know that is Napa Valley; so that is ironic with someone bragging about their area code.

Maybe you are gansta though. Do you wear a 707 cap?

I'm not in Napa. 707 covers a ton of areas, at least four counties that I can think of off the top of my head. Happens to be the area where I was born.

I'd happily argue with you about rocks except, er, I can't find your point of debate on the topic. Apparently you... are rich enough that you live in a neighborhood entirely devoid of stones, somehow including a complete ban on landscaping rock, and... you think my username is some clever strategic ploy to try to make you feel inferior about where you live?

Sorry, your attempt to pick a fight here is kind of failing because I am really not sure WTF you want to argue about.

no, it's not true. HELOCs and cash outs were legally barred. the banks wanted to do it, could do it under federal regs, but couldn't do it under the state constitution.

edit: and given how asshats in california take out jumbos on $35,000 a year incomes maybe, just maybe, they're the people who can't manage their money. texas is relatively unscathed in the mortgage mess.

I like the idea about not using a rock because it's hard to find but using a bucket of water because hey who isn't always carrying around a bucket of water? *sigh*

It seems normal that under certain circumstances a dog would attack another, but if that dog ever attacks a human under any circumstance except as a specifically trained weapon to be used against them (e.g. police dog) should get the needle, no questions asked.

The best way to break up a dog fight is to damage the winning dog, a swift kick, a choke, winning force to the bigger dog usually works. If a fight breaks out, just show you are alpha, dogs understand that.

Go check out that troll in the garage, he's so insecure about his lot in life that he continually pimps his economic e-peen in massive, voluminous posts exclaiming all the inane crap he purchases, and when sarcastically asked about how much money he spends on food he even responds. http://forums.anandtech.com/showpost.php?p=32245216&postcount=60

By responding to him seriously you're intimating that there is some way to form a bridge of understanding with him. If you accomplish that, you'll be the first.

During the recent banking crisis, the housing market in Texas is in pretty good condition as compared to the rest of the nation.

Texans are ok with killing things without restraint,

My dog is my property, I have a duty to protect my property.

You have not addressed my comments about dogs attacking children. If a pair of aggressive dogs come into my yard and attack my dog, what assurance do I have that my kids and grand kids will not be next?

As far as I know, my 4 year old grandson or my 3 year old granddaughter is next on the list. Screw that.

Aggressive dogs are dealt with. After an aggressive dog is dealt with "properly", it will not be aggressive anymore.

Dude, that is exactly the same thing. Texas felt their people were unable to manage their money.

They give them full rights to shoot just about anything that finds it's way on their property, but they lack common sense to be financially responsible.

Don't worry every Texan I laugh at about this issue defends it the same way, probably best your equity is kept from you.

It's called "put down your beer and stop watching the dog fight, get your kids inside...then figure it out."

Everything may be big in Texas, but brains don't seem to be part of it.

^^^ another whiney emo thread by Doppel.

If you don't want responses to questions, why post them?

Troll, troll, troll your boat,,,,,,,.

The only thing I am going to go inside for is to retrieve my rifle or shotgun.

As for being financially responsible, my wife and I live debt free. We have no outstanding debt of any kind.

It's hardly trolling, it's simply proper parenting.

Proper parenting is making sure your kids are safe, even when your back is turned.

Couple of dogs go into your yard and attack your dog, all you do is throw water on them, do not complain when your kids face is ripped off next week.

Why grab a shotgun when you can grab a Super Soaker? If you're a good parent your kids will have multiple Super Soakers :p

P.S.
Arguing with Alky is like arguing with a brick wall.

You should be proactive and just eliminate all beasts within 100 miles of your property.

I am not the one that keeps pulling a door that says push.

You can be Tonto and join Kebosame above in and effort to gun down all dogs in his neighborhood.

you can't discuss about texans keeping their money in a shoebox with a guy who has the same mentality:
I use no credit cards so I can't hurt myself by using them without responsibility and planning = banning HELOCs is good because this way I can't hurt myself by using them without responsibility and planning.

Anyway about the dog debate: just build a fence. Just fence your garden/yard, or grow a hedgerow.

Dogs should not be let run free on the road or the sidewalk, because they will harass people even if they're not aggressive.
They should not be bounded with a chain too, because that's not good for their psychological health.
Fence your garden or get a small dog to be kept inside when you're not with him.

Most attacks that happen in my country are due to free dogs wandering on the road, like pitbull packs escaping from people who can't manage dogs.

In my neighborhood there are no rocks on the public space. I'd have to jump over a fence, violate private property, and search for a rock, without any guarantee of finding one.

Also you can't shoot in residential areas. Only in the woods and on the mountains.

Tonto made America great, so thank you.

I won't shoot any dog, unless it is a threat to myself, family or(if I have any) livestock.

A dog fight, I'll break up if I know any dog in the fight, and I'll do it with force, to both dogs if necessary.

My neighbor across the street had a small dog that would run over to my house and want to play with the grand kids. This thing might have weighed 10 pounds and was no harm to anyone. A few days ago the dog ran in front of a car and was killed.

The other day there was a big boxer bulldog in the field next to my house, when I yelled at it to "go on", it tucked its tail between its legs and ran off.

There is a difference in those types of dogs, and ones that come around looking for trouble.
